Additional info & updates

1/15 - Admitted with Scholarship to New York Law School. Have to wait for the amount in the mail. Good news for a Friday. My first acceptance.

1/14 - Via Status Checker for the University of Denver: Decision processed? So I guess I'll wait for it in the mail. I will add that most people I've seen on LSN who were accepted to DU received an email notfying them of their acceptance and since I have not received an email I will presume unfortunately that I did not get accpeted. We'll see...

1/12 - Via online Status Checker the Admissions Committee has deferred a final decision on my application for admission to the Chicago-Kent College of Law Fall 2010 entering class. More waiting...

1/11 - Northeastern University via online Status Checker...Decision Letter mailed.

1/07 - Haven't heard from Loyola yet... probably not good news. They normally send accepted students packets via priority mail which would have already arrived. So can't wait to get another little envelope saying go fuck yourself.

1/04 - Loyola Status Check went Decision Made.

I also withdrew my application from the University of Florida as I didn't want to put in all the extra leg work to find documentation of past drinking tickets and whatnot. I figure it was a long shot either way and not worth the trouble.

12/05/09 - Received the first decision of my cycle and it was a lovely little envelope from American stating that we regret to inform you blah blah blah...
On the bright side I am no longer obligated to attend American since I wasn't accepted and I applied binding early decision. Kinda glad actually since I will hopefully have some options to choose from as my cycle progresses...

12/02/09 - Still have yet to receive my decision from American via USPS... not looking good, however, everyone on LSN who posted a decision rendered on 11/23 was accepted so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Have received e-mails from various other schools I applied to that my application is complete and in committee and/or under review. Hopefully I will start to hear some news as I would like to start planning for next fall!!

re: Why not Pitt

Although, Pitt made me a good offer, in terms of personal growth and just professional development, I've always wanted to live/work in Chicago. Im from a "small town" relatively speaking, so the appeal is definitely there. Also, in terms of education, Kent has the only 3 year legal writing requirement in the country, and in talking to some friends who are currently in their last year of school (various other law schools) they have all said that they wish that their schools had made them do more of it. I also applied e.d. to Kent so that ultimately decided for me because it is binding. Im not sure how much they are going to give me, but lets hope its competitive. Good luck on the rest of your cycle
