I'm pretty sure I want to practice in the midwest, but still haven't decided on a school yet. I'll be visiting several of them during this next month. What about yourself? --Btw, I'm an Army veteran as well.

Congrats!

Congrats on the great schollys, and good luck with the rest of the cycle! I'm pulling for a similar bid at USC...did you receive the offer with admission, or did you need to price compete with the other offers?

Congrats on NYU! It's looking more and more like Vandy for me. 11B, infantry up! :)

Pretty Funny

Haha ya UCLA has a really wonky system for addressing applications...it's certainly not in order. I think I got expedited for being an alum (or else they accidentally hit the magic "auto-admit" button when looking over my app.) My bet is you'll hear within the next 2-3 weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Where ya headed?

So as we close in on the decision date, where are you thinking you're headed?

Congrats!

Hey well congrats on NYU...I can definitely appreciate the allure of a school like that. For me, the question was always much easier -- my wife has an amazing job here in Orange County, so I knew that a Southern California school would be ideal for me. I am a firm believer, however, that with picking a school, your capacity as a student will shine through and matter more than where you ultimately attend, so long as it is a fairly competitive school. Yeah, my belief is to try to squeeze in as much random fun as possible into life...because, hell, you only live once right? I used to teach Shaolin Kung Fu, though it was pretty hardcore for that style -- we did a lot of bare-knuckle sparring and stuff. It was a great outlet when I was a hormone-ridden teen, and the discipline and focus you get from MA is really a phenomenal gift. I hope you find your way -- you are obviously very smart and capable...it's just going to come down to what you really want. All the best!
