I would like to note that I, in fact, withdrew from NYU before receiving my waitlist notification in the mail. Take heed: They did not call the shots in this law school game, I did. I highly suspect that they got my withdraw e-mail and after journeying through all five stages of grief, attempted to regain control of the situation by sending me a waitlist letter. This was a desperate move, it's very obvious that they are not handling my rejection of them very well. I sympathize with their hurt feelings, but there really is no excuse in acting like this decision was theirs to make. They tried to play hard-to-get by making me wait more than 29 weeks after application submission to give me a decision, and were probably planning on accepting me with a full-ride (thinking I would be so grateful for their attention, I would have no choice but to matriculate), but this strategy blew up in their faces. Again, my condolences to the NYU community and the friends and loved ones of the staff of the admissions office, but they shouldn't have put Baby into a corner.
