Additional info & updates

- 03/17/2010 - Withdrew from PSU, Wake Forest, Lewis and Clark, Samford, and UIUC at the beginning of March; will be attending Alabama. FINALLY, this cycle is over!

- 01/28/2010 - Added dates for rejections and waistlists.

- I don't remember the specific dates for the rejections and waitlists; they are all a big blur for obvious reasons. But Northeastern was a "deferred," not "waitlist," though there's not much difference. I'll update with the decision dates for those rejections and waitlists when I can stand to look at the decision letters and emails.

-01/08/2010 - In at UIUC w/ money via email; WTF, this is crazy. I've been so fortunate.

-01/07/2010 - Deferred at Northeastern to regular pool of applicants.

-12/22/2009 - In at PSU; notification via email. Details of acceptance and scholarship award will be in package, which will arrive in January.

-12/08/2009 - Scholarship amount (hopefully, I'll be able to change that to "amounts" later in the cycle) is the three-year total.

-11/18/2009 - So I went complete at Lewis & Clark. But I'd been complete since 10/22/2009. I think it went from "Application Complete, Pending Review" to "Application File Complete." But what does it mean?!?!?!

-11/18/2009 - In at Alabama w/ money; notification via phone.

-11/14/2009 - In at UBalt; notification via mail

-11/11/2009 - In at Cumberland; notification via status checker

-10/16/2009 - Received LSAT score. It was pretty ... abysmal (for me only, considering my PT scores).

-08/15/2009 - Officially a graduate; today was my degree date, though I don't get to actually "walk" until December (there is no summer ceremony.)

-06/12/2009 - Received notification of my placement on the Presidential Honors' List for the Spring 2009 semester. The president's list awards students who achieve a 4.0 GPA during a semester of at least 12 credits.

-05/09/2009 - On the diagnostic for the aforementioned course, I scored in the 77th percentile. Although it's not quite where I would like to be, it's an improvement on my first diagnostic taken some months ago. Since I have until October 2009 (well, actually, end of September), I feel optimistic that I can reach my goal of 168 by that time.

-05/07/2009 - Won a certain scholarship.

-03/30/2009 - Hit first 170 score - 172 on December 2000 PT (untimed); Hopefully, I can make such a score translate on test day and that I will receive the same score on more recent PTs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-I will be retaking the LSAT in October 2009. This will be my last time taking the test, so I'd better score 165 or more.

-I have already composed an addendum which attempts to explain my terrible GPA. I was accepted to two schools last cycle with that addendum and a lower LSAT score, but I thought I was capable of more, so I withdrew from the cycle.

-Very high upward trend

-I think I will write a new personal statement, but about what?

- I know some of these are super reaches, but the worst that can happen is that I'll be rejected. Fees are waived, and it is not terribly time-consuming or difficult to tailor my statements to specific schools. I say it's worth the try, at least.
