12/7 - "Under Review" at Berkeley

12/10 - Received invitation from USC to apply for Rothman Scholarship

12/22 - In at USD via status checker and snail mail

1/7 - USC status checker changed to "In Review"

1/19 - Received a small envelope from UC Hastings enclosing a letter of acceptance

1/20 - USC status checker changed to "Decision Finalized" (as of 1/19) - the mail can't come fast enough!

1/21 - Received big envelope from GW! Acceptance letter was dated 1/19 and included a very nice handwritten note from the dean.

1/26 - Still nothing in the mail from USC, but I received an email from them this morning congratulating me on my acceptance!!

1/27 - Received Dean's Honor Scholarship offer from USD - $37,000 each year, over $110,000 total! Very tempting. They're also offering me a $400 travel allowance to come visit.

1/27 - Received "Complete" email, shortly followed by "Accepted" email, from Brooklyn today.

1/29 - Georgetown status checker changed to "Application Under Review". Anyone know how long this usually takes?

2/2 - First rejection - NYU (via small envelope in mail - letter was dated 1/21, envelope postmarked 1/27). Bummer but I'm not that surprised.

2/3 - Accepted to Fordham via email! Also received an email from Georgetown requesting an interview (and status checker changed to "Committee Requested Interview")!

2/5 - Rejection email from Berkeley. Bummer.

2/9 - Rejected at UCLA via snail mail. Another bummer, but at least I got into USC.

2/11 - Rejection letter from Columbia. Not surprised.

2/23 - Interview with Georgetown alumn; it went well - very casual - hopefully I'll hear soon!

2/25 - Merit Scholarship offer letter from Fordham - $10,000! Also got a rejection letter from Stanford (long overdue).

3/1 - Georgetown status checker changed back to "Application Under Review".

3/3 - Nice scholarship offer from Brooklyn received via snail mail.

3/17 - Georgetown status checker changed to "Decision Rendered"!!

3/19 - Rejection email from Georgetown. Bummer.

How did you decide on Brooklyn? Just curious. You got into some good choice of schools. It might be too late if you've already sent in your merit aid deposit, but you could try asking Brooklyn for more money. You might get bumped from the $36,600 level to the $45,200 level.
