Additional info & updates

Attained an MBA in 2008, MBA GPA was 3.22. Hopefully that works as a positive grade trend??

Had a 158 on the September LSAT. Retook the December test and scored a 161. I did apply to a few schools with the lesser score so if you are looking for comparable numbers please note the dates. Any school applied to after December 28th was with the 161 LSAT score. Any school that has rendered a decision before that date is going off the 158 score.

-11/10 Received a large envelope from Cooley. Accepted with a 75% scholarship offer.

-12/4 Received a small white envelope from Stetson. Rejected...Seems like this year is a horrible year to be applying. Read an article on the dramatic increase in the number of LSAT takers this year. Admission standards will be up everywhere!! Shoot me!

-12/21 Got an email from Akron saying that my application will be deferred for later consideration. I hate my UGPA!

-12/28 Got an email from the LSAC, I ended up with a 161 on my LSAT retake. Not a huge improvement from 158, but I reached my goal of being over a 160. Hopefully that and the grades from my masters program will help to offset the horrible UGPA a bit.

-1/11 Received an Email from Detroit-Mercy saying only "I am writing in regards to your application to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Please contact me at (313) xxx-xxxx." Figured I missed a question on the application or something, but it turns out they wanted to tell me I have been Accepted. Found it just a bit strange that they run the process that way...but whatever. Should have information in the mail in the coming days.

-1/14 Accepted to Missouri-Columbia. Received notification via standard mail, letter came in a small white envelope.

-1/14 Had a call from Akron saying I have been accepted. I guess the improved LSAT score was enough to push it over the top, considering I was deferred in December.

-1/16 In at Toledo. Small white envelope via usps.

-1/22 Accepted at Buffalo!! Very excited, one of my top choices. Acceptance letter came in medium sized envelope via USPS.

-1/25 In at Arkansas-Fayetteville with a $12,000 per year scholarship contingent upon maintaining a 2.0 gpa.

-1/27 Waitlisted at Loyola and rejected by Kentucky. Both came USPS small white envelopes.

1/30- Large white envelope from DePaul, I have been accepted with a $15,000 a year scholarship! Very excited about this one!

-2/3 In at Albany via status checker.

-2/4 Accepted at Wayne state via large white envelope.

I have not yet received any scholarship money from UDM. The acceptance packet did say "Scholarships at UDM Law are merit based. Admitted students do not need to apply for these scholarships. Every applicant is reviewed automatically once they are admitted to the school of law. Scholarship recipients are then informed of their award independent of their admit letter." So based on that, if I am going to get any money I should get something in the mail within the coming weeks. Hope that helps.

Do you have a ballpark-idea of when Kent was complete and when the decision was made? One week turnaroud seems really fast. It feels like I've been waiting forever! We've got similar numbers, good luck on everything!
