Additional info & updates

I know I'm late to the game, but I just had to join in and lend a hand to future applicants. I wish everyone the best of luck this cycle, especially all of you URM applicants out there! I'll be providing updates from this point forward.

Scholarships are by year, with the exception of Utah.

03/29/13- Admitted to Arizona! Notified through a phone call from the assistant dean of admissions.

03/30/13- Received scholarship from Arizona! It's not much, but I'm happy to have been considered for it.

04/03/13- Utah has offered me a single semester scholarship of $16,700. It's a nice sum, even though it's not renewable. However, they did indicate that there may be more scholarships lined up in the future.
-Minnesota has also placed me on their waitlist. I'll try and wait around to see what transpires there.

04/04/2013- Rejected by Virginia. Can't say I'm too surprised, given the numbers the average entering class has.

04/10/13- In at Texas! I still can't believe it. And to think I almost didn't apply at all.

For all of you people out there unsure of your chances at getting into the top schools: Don't sell yourself short. Had I not been encouraged to apply, I would have never been given the incredible opportunity that has just been bestowed upon me. Take the shot, and at the very least you will not be left wondering "what if?"

04/15/13- The last decision from this cycle has just come in, and it's an acceptance from Houston.

4/22/13- Just received a small named scholarship from UT! I'm very excited about it!

05/25/13- Texas Tech raised my scholarship to $20,000 after I asked for a bit of a raise. Let me tell you, the offer was tempting!

6/12/13- I am now officially committed to Texas! It was tough turning down such a large scholarship from Tech, but I think I made the right decision.

Below you will find a list of predicted outcomes (from Law School Predictor) versus actual outcomes. I hope this will help future applicants gauge their chances.

Congrats on New Mexico. I was waitlisted recently and I am waiting to hear back from them. Where are you deciding to commit and attend in the fall?

So sorry for not getting back to you! I haven't been on in ages. Best of luck with New Mexico. I advise you to be patient and stay on that waitlist; they may just bite. I'd say New Mexico is definitely worth the wait. And to answer your question, I've decided to go to Texas!
