Additional info & updates

I'm going to attend NY Law for the upcoming Fall semester.. Pretty pumped, I applied PT and they offered me FT. Considering the job market for finance majors at this current time, it's the most ideal situation for me and most beneficial long-term.

Unfortunately, Seton Hall was my top choice and didn't work out favorably. Despite, Seton Hall being better statistically than NY Law, I feel like there are a lot of intangible factors that make NY Law better for me. NY Law is in the city, which is an experience in itself. Seton Hall is a 10 min drive from me and in a crummy area. No doubt SHU is better but they are def. comparable. In addition, I'm going into NY Law with an open mind and a finance background out of undergrad. If i choose to go into corporate law, Wall Street is right there. I'm excited about the opportunity.

Seton Hall is a good school, but it isn't Ivy League. In order to get a good job from either NYLS or SHU, you have to bust your ass. Nothing is guaranteed. 10 years from now when your out in the work force no one cares what law school you went to, rather what type of lawyer you are. And I have 2 family members to prove it.

4/4/09- Waitlisted from both Hofstra and Pace. Almost expecting both. A little surprised at being waitlisted from both of these schools yet offered FT at NY Law. I guess I applied too late in the cycle. I really don't care I feel NY Law is better than both of these schools especially for the long term. NYLS's new building is sick.

4/1/2009- Rejected from Seton Hall.... and it wasn't an April Fools Joke.... A little bummed at first but why would i want to go to school 10 minutes from where I live in the ghetto? I will forever hold a personal vendetta against Seton Hall... Framing the rejection letter as a motivating force towards getting a 4.0.

3/20/2009-Accepted into NY Law. Offered FT despite applying PT. Intriguing.

2/7/09- Accepted into Touro PT. 7,000 per year. Safety school. Too far. Job prospects are low. LI is boring. Withdrawn. GL to anyone that goes to Touro.
