===

Dec 5: Georgetown acceptance letter. So fast! =)
Jan 14: Michigan rejection letter. So fast! =(
Jan 31: "On hold" at Northwestern via online status checker. Really, Northwestern?
Feb 8: Yale & Penn rejection letters. One-two double whammy.
Feb 11: Harvard deferral email. More shocked than anything that I wasn't rejected.
Feb 13: Columbia deferral letter dated Feb 8. Stop playin' games with my heart...
Feb 21: Duke waitlist email. You promised me a decision in ONE WEEK, not TWO FREAKIN' MONTHS, and after all that, you WAITLISTED me?
Mar 10: Chicago deferral letter dated Mar 5. Further review seems to indicate 'on hold' means waitlist here. Will educate myself further as to the intricacies of Chicago's statuses (stati?)
Mar 19: NYU acceptance letter dated Mar 12. FINALLY good news.
Mar 28: UVa notification email and status checker update. JUST TELL ME ALREADY DAMMIT
Mar 28: Withdrew from Duke, Georgetown, and Northwestern. Guys, I've been thinking, about us, and I don't see ourselves together three years down the line...
Mar 31: UVa "Priority Waitlisted" letter. All that hype for this?
Apr 20: Columbia reserve letter dated Apr 15. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet; a waitlist by any other name would suck as much.
Apr 22: Harvard rejection email. Why oh why couldn't you have done this to me two months earlier instead of stringing me along? Also, what, no letter? What am I supposed to burn and deface, a printout?
Apr 27: Georgetown financial aid letter: $20,000/year scholarship. Too bad I already withdrew. Georgetown isn't taking the breakup well apparently =(
Apr 29: Made NYU deposit electronically. I guess I had a pretty easy choice to make this cycle.
Apr 30: Withdrew from UVa via email. I don't care how high a priority of a waitlist I'm on, I'm on the super-high-priority list at NYU, the ACCEPTED list.

Congrats on getting out so early, good luck with the school list. adbaxter

probably won't be drawback. there are always a handful of young applicants (younger than 20) every year. i was 18 when i applied and 19 in my 1L year and i got into HLS and SLS. i'm a 2L now, but to my knowledge, there was at least one other 19 year old in my 1L year and another 20 year old. there's at least one 20 year old in the current 1L class, and i know a 3L who started when he was 20 as well. also know a guy who just graduated from CLS who started when he was 18 -- i believe he's working at a V10 firm right now. i had a similar LSAT score to you but a higher GPA (3.8+), although it was in an easier major. i also had almost no significant extracurriculars. get some good recommendations and write a kick-ass PS and i'd imagine you have a very good shot at HYSCCN. hope this helps! feel free to IM me if you have any questions. – asdf

I thought I was the youngest person on LSN!

I turned 19 in May, started college at 14. I skipped all of high school.

Good job on the LSAT, I had to take it twice to get that score :-D

Do you think you could put me in touch with the person who made the above post? I'd like to talk to him/her about what it's like to be young at a top school.

Thanks, and best of luck this cycle! dajicksta

Good luck! Sunday, December 16th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Good luck with all your apps!

I applied ED because it was my number one choice. Even for undergrad, though I didn't get in. I've always wanted to be in the city, and I like it more than NYU. zephyrmaster

DC Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
No, I won't be in DC for that, it's a long flight from CA... plus I've already visited their campus (it's really nice) dajicksta
re: hold Thursday, January 31st, 2008 at 7:36 pm
haha yea, you're probably right. i'm sorry you were put on hold at northwestern, but it's much better than a rejection. nothing to get too bummed out about... dajicksta
Take This Cycle Off Monday, February 18th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
You should reapply next cycle. As I'm sure you know, your cycle has not been strong considering your numbers. Get some life experience under your belt and reapply - go see the world man, stop with your rigid track and reassess your priorities. – Madcaddy3
Congrats! Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
on NYU! Do you think you're going to end up there ? Good luck with the rest. BTW: I was 20 when I applied in early Jan - 21 now. Would bother me if that was / is a factor for either of us... but NYU doesn't seem to mind at least. Olto
Congrats! Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
