Info for the truly obsessed:

-Georgetown came in a letter-sized envelope

-NYU in a 8.5x11 brown envelope

-Berkeley via e-mail, then received official letter in late Jan.

-UVA via phone call from admission office, letter soon after

-Cornell came in a letter-sized envelope. The invitation to apply for the scholarship was in the admission letter.

-Penn deferred me via e-mail (on the same day that all the other deferral e-mails seem to have gone out)

-Michigan sent a thick 8.5x11 packet of info. Scholarship notification came later, in early Feb.

-Harvard sent me a nice thin letter-sized rejection letter.

-Ditto for Columbia's reserve letter.

-And again for Penn's rejection letter.
