Additional Information
10/27: Phone call from UCLA Dean of Admissions offering admission and $90,000 scholarship over 3 years
11/16: Received acceptance packet from USD via mail.
11/24: Received letter size envelope with hand written acceptance note from Georgetown. No packet/financial aid information.
12/6: Getting anxious as I see the NYU and Berkeley decisions being released. Tomorrow's my birthday, how about a present?
12/7: Mom and Dad called today saying that an acceptance letter from NYU arrived. Happy Birthday to me!
12/20: Where you at, Berkeley? My feelings are getting hurt.
1/5: E-mail from Columbia requesting my fall 2009 grades. Not sure what to make of it.
1/25: Phone call from my parents letting my know an acceptance letter arrived from Columbia!
1/26: E-mail from Berkeley notifying me that I am being placed into committee review. Decision expected around 2/19
2/2: "On hold" at Harvard... doesn't sound promising.
2/3: LOCI to Stanford, Harvard, and Berkeley
2/14: Withdrew from USD. Figured if I was going to follow the money I'd pick UCLA over USD and thus I was just hogging money from students who might actually use it.
2/18: Rejected from Berkeley. Surprising to the extent that I was above their 75th percentile in GPA and LSAT, but after the lengthy review process I kind of figured I was dismissed as too "flat" for them. Can't say it's not disappointing, but from what I've discovered about their admissions criteria, it wasn't unexpected.
3/5: Scholarship interview with Georgetown. Didn't get to say all that I wanted to say, but it didn't feel too bad. Expecting to hear back on 3/15.
3/10: No money from NYU... once again screwed over by my parents income even though they aren't paying for anything
3/18: No money from Georgetown = not a chance of attending. Will be withdrawing as soon as I return home.
3/31: Significantly struggling with choosing between NYU, Columbia, and UCLA... ugh!
4/10: Second LOCI to Stanford
4/15: WL at Stanford. Either that LOCI helped me or didn't make a difference at all.
4/17: WL at Harvard, just like I expected.
8/5: Officially withdrew from Harvard and Stanford and will be attending Columbia. No complaints.

i'm watching you...

Their target LSAT range for admission off the Faculty Review seems to be around 165-170. Pretty aggressive yield protection, unless they really just didn't like us.

carterth is right. But Berkeley is also up-front about the fact that they heavily favor those who apply early. So if you apply in sept with anything above a 170, you're nearly guaranteed green no matter how unlikely you are to attend; but if you apply later than 10/15, and they suspect you'll go HYS anyway, they reject to protect yield.

I would've applied earlier but I decided to retake the LSAT and I was holding out for some few waivers at places (wanted one credit card charge). Oh well... it was more of an ego thing anyway since I hear mixed things about the quality of Boalt. I don't think I will fall into the HYS category though.
