Extra Curricular Information

I spent a year teaching in China, studied in Spain for a semester, and spent a combined eight months backpacking around South America and Europe.

I have run my own tutoring enterprise for the last few years, and I spent a year teaching at-risk youth in an alternative high school.

In college, I participated in and served on the council for a weekly service group, and coordinated a Spring Break service trip to the Appalachian region each year.

I am not very good at basketball.

Additional info & updates

I haven't been rejected anywhere...but I got wait listed pretty much everywhere. I submitted each of my applications about two hours before its deadline, which I think has a lot to do with it, so use me as a cautionary tale. Get your stuff in early. At least you'll know where you stand by May. I got accepted to several Top 10 schools in June, but it's so late that I don't know whether I'm still interested, and a lot of the aid has already been allocated.

Get your stuff in as early as you can. Several admissions officers told me explicitly that I would have been accepted if only I'd applied earlier. Lame.
