Extra Curricular Information

I'm finishing up a master's degree.
I speak Spanish pretty well due to completing a minor in it & spending 4 total months in Latin America.
I participated in a very wide range of activities during undergrad (played for the traveling club rugby team, student government, organized & ran a charity event, wrote for the school paper, served as an English conversation partner for exchange students, played bass guitar in a jazz band... yea, I dabbled in pretty much everything)

Additional info & updates

The listed scholarship amounts are the total amounts of money offered, not per year

My advice for people applying for law school: get your apps in as soon as possible! I had good letters of rec, pretty good softs, wrote a quality personal statement, and the worst thing on my criminal record was a speeding ticket. I also didn't send in my first application until 2/10. It hurt me bigtime. At several schools, I got zero scholarships (and a few waitlists) where other people who applied earlier received acceptances and (sometimes big) money.

School Notes:
Georgia - I guess that's what I get for applying on the last day. I received my waitlist email within 24 (business) hours of my application going under review. In January and February, people with 165 LSATs were basically auto admits.

Denver - pretty sure this was for yield protection. In reality, I would have considered it if they'd accepted me & offered some money (I really love Colorado & the mountains), but I didn't feel like writing a multi-page LOCI and then haggling with them over scholarships. Oh yea, they gave me a merit based fee waiver too. Odd all around.

Arizona St. - the scholarship money reduces each year. 20k, 15k, nada. The idea behind their strategy is that you'll be working & making $$ during your third year so it's better to front load it.

George Mason - I really liked this school, but the cost (35k tuition COL in DC) was a huge turn off. I plan on working in government after graduating, so taking on nearly 60k of loans/year did not seem fiscally sensible.

Pepperdine - $20k/year. Its annual renewal was contingent on staying in the top 1/3.

Houston - $5k/year.

Florida State - getting in state tuition after year 1 is like receiving a huge scholarship. Other than that, good rank, great price, located in Florida... what's not to like? (Well, Tallahassee's roads but still)

Minnesota - I was surprised to get a rejection instead of a spot on the WL. When looking at the graph, I appear squarely in waitlist territory.

Alabama - Withdrew May 1st before receiving a response. I received an email asking if I was still interested. I considered saying yes simply for the sake of the people that use this site. As I didn't, the best I can do is report that the email said it would be late May before they finished with their review process (this is not the WL process). So, if your heart is set on Bama, be prepared for a long wait.

SMU - Waitlisted 4/29. DO NOT turn in your application 45 minutes after the deadline! They will fill up their class before they get to you!

Arizona - I was waitlisted on 4/12. It seems like another "don't apply late" story as they gave lots of big scholarships to people with numbers similar to mine.
