--Hastings gave me their offer 04/11, after I visited and met with the admissions dean.
--Admitted off the wait list from UC Davis 05/01 (one week to respond). Scholarship offer on 05/07 is $6k/year merit, $14k/year need-based, and $9,300 non-renewable 1st-year out-of-state tuition defray.
--Phone call 06/04, in at UCLA off the wait list!!!!! Only need based aid $7,000 per year available at the moment. Maybe that will change? 06/08 is first deposit deadline--then another 06/15.

You posted a lot of great information on this page. Does your ranking change, or are you attending based on your own personal ranking?

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do at this point. I visited CA schools this week, and while I would be really happy to attend USC or UCLA, and I really liked the vibe at Davis, I was underwhelmed by Hastings and San Diego. Loyola I definitely won't be attending--the campus really isn't something I'd like, esp. the location. My trip made me a little more open to something else on the East Coast, but I really am not sure right now. Surprised Davis wait listed me, so that kinda throws off my plan to stay in CA. Hopefully I'll hear something good from USC soon!

Hi! Thanks! I'm pretty excited! Yes, I sent a 1-page LOCI in late March, about a month after I was wait listed and sent in the generic response form. I found a template online and worked off that. Then I visited during the first week of April. They didn't have any official class visits or tours available the day I was there, so I did the self-guided tour and talked to students on campus. I also emailed a prof in my area of interest and he let me sit in on his class--even made a point of chatting with me afterward. Sent him a little thank you card after my visit too. :-) May 1, I sent a short email reaffirming my interest and detailing what I enjoyed about my visit and mentioning the class I visited. Last week on 5/31 I called the office to see if they had any more info on when they might be pulling from the list and if they wanted another LOR since I had just been promoted to a new position when I applied. Then Monday I got the call! :-) Not sure what to attribute it to, but it seems like keeping in touch every 3 weeks or so is not considered too much.
