My goal is to work in environmental law in New York someday.
2010-03-02: received scholarship offer from FCSL before applying. They do have a respectable environmental program... though it's Jacksonville and not New York.
2010-03-03: sent out all applications online via LSAC
2010-03-15: learned that my undergraduate university administration sent LSAC an out-of-date inaccurate copy of my transcript without my completed B.A. listed on it
2010-03-17: LSAC receives the correct and final transcript, expecting all applications to be considered completed soon
2010-03-18: received mail from Touro Law, with acceptance and merit-based scholarship offer of $18,500/yr (so long as I remain ranked in the top 25%)
2010-04-08: saw online that I had been waitlisted at Hofstra, a letter or an e-mail would've been nice
2010-04-09: received an email from Buffalo inviting me to an accepted students info session. I'll take this as good news, but I'm supposed to hear by the 15th?
2010-04-10: received acceptance letter from UB Law, not sure if i could survive 3 years in some place that it snowed on April 9th. I now have until at least April 30th to make a decision.
2010-04-26: waitlisted at St. John's. Pace online status still says 'File Complete'. Will I hear from them this week? It's been more than a month.
2010-04-27: Pace just e-mailed me asking me to write a statement because they're still interested to see if I'm still interested in them. Uhhh, what do you think I'm waiting for?
2010-04-29: Pace's online status now says 'Decision has been mailed.' Buffalo seat deposit is due tomorrow. What timing.
2010-04-30: received e-mail from Pace about accepted students
2010-05-03: received actual acceptance package from Pace. Scholarship to be mailed separately.
2010-05-05: Pace offers $13,000/yr merit-based scholarship.
2010-05-05: FASFA, tap completed. Still undecided between Pace and Buffalo.
2010-05-11: stopped by at Pace-White Plains. Nice, in a fine neighborhood, but really, really small.
2010-05-12: visited Buffalo. A very modern-looking campus, much nicer than any other SUNY campus I've visited.
2010-05-15: Buffalo's Financial Aid office sends me a FASFA prediction (all loans in some form), $550 from TAP; assuming Pace will be similar unless they give grants.
2010-05-19: Pace was too small, lack of student support was in contrast to all of the direction that Buffalo puts in.
2010-05-20: received finaid pack from Pace, one day after their deadline had passed.
2010-05-21: declared Intent To Enroll at Buffalo
Hey did you hear from Pace yet? I got the same email... so weird, then I got "decision has been mailed" on my status checker... so I called them and begged them to tell me and was told that I got in. Don't know if I got any scholarships yet though. BTW, did you go to Touro's admitted students' reception last week? Good luck with Pace, I see that it's your first choice. I am about 98% going to Pace.
