so much, after beign rejected by MSU and before they even sent me a complete notice I was feeling really down. On the bright side though I was accepted into Cooley, and with a 255 scholarship too! Good luck on your LSAT and your apps!

Cooley!

Hey from a fellow Wildcat. Congrats on Cooley and I am sorry about MSU. Just be happy you'll be out of Tucson soon!

Excuse Me

Before you start making unwarranted insinuations, you should fully understand the circumstances that I am under. I have a visual disorder that was not accommodated for. This is the one and only reason I received such a low score. I will not be further subjected to such immature behavior and will thus eliminate any more of these unnecessary ramblings. I will delete this and the previous post after a week or so.

I have a professor who is blind. He wrote to his law schools explaining his situation with the LSAT and got into Northwestern. It might be worth a shot. Good Luck.

Thank you all

for such encouragement. I am hoping against hope that I get into Cleavland State (due to their multi-state bar) but at least I now have a choice between Thomas Cooley and University of Detroit Mercy

Detroit Mercy

Congrats!!! How did they inform you that you were accepted? money?

They informed me
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

via email, but the email was set up in such a way that they couldn't say I was accepted in the email instead, it read that they had great news about the status of my application and that I needed to call them right away. Sneaky... Then they told me that I was accepted on the phone. - logged user

Hello there, Congratulations on your acceptance to UDM. You must be very proud. I too am waiting on a decision from them. I pray to God that it is a positive one. Congrats again! Best Regards.

UDM

I noticed you and I both have only been accepted to UDM and Cooley. Well congrats on both. What do you know about UDM, it seems like a pretty good program to me.

Thanks, here's somthing yu probably kno

Well it's a Catholic school, although catholosim is not pressed on you, if you are not religious, it may not be a very comfortable 3 years. I am still contemplating although I should be so lucky, right (with a 141). Congrats on Cooley and UDM and great luck (better than good) at all your other schools. I hope I can get into Cleavland STATE. Then I would have some tough choices to make, huh?

Studies show that the lsat only predicts how 20% of law students will perform. Not sure where our coffee drinking friend is getting his information.

Good luck

With your decision. I too bombed my LSAT, after scoring an average of 10 points higher in my pre-tests.

Cooley v. UDM

Hi. So you decided on Cooley over UDM? I'm curious to know what led you to that decision? I was in a similar situation, but chose UDM. Congratulations. You're on your way!

Cooley

To those being nice and those not
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Thank you for the words of encouragement via the nice ppl, and to those who have no life ... and also are anonymous ... you are not that anonymous and I was a hacker for 14 years, so try me... You have no right to include derrogatory info on this site, plus if you speak adversely to Cooley it is only because you have heard or have witnessed from someone using simply inadmissable hearsay ... and further you have not experienced cooley.... I wish everyone luck in their admissions as I have been subject to an injustice (look at my LSAT) ls is ls ... and in the end I will be a very competent attorney .... thank you all again for words of encouragement and peace to all - Darrell Oh based arguendo .... my old monker is when I knew of my stats b4 my LSAT ... so once I recived my LSAT and have gained further prospective on the law school experience, I now realize Ivy (most eletist schools that is) do not prepare people to be competent practicing attorneys my school demolishes YALE students over and over in national MOCK trial court and moot court competitions annually, don't take my word for it research it yourself...

To answer the bar ?
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Cooley's rates may be 55% assuming this is true this has not been brought into context, as this may overall be true, anyone above a 3.0 @ Cooley at graduation has a bar passage (1st time) of 90%+ so please think in context

Debunk
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

First off... There is both moot court and mock trial (they are seperate entities) secondly I am not insulting ivy leagues (I once aspired to go Ivy) I did not "bomb" my LSAT score in nowhere indicative of my true abilities... I can be one of the class actions against the LSAC for not accommodating my obvious disability ... If you want to know more then ask, but I'm not currently going to rant about my eye disorder... Next, your post proves my point exacly, take the words as you see them, Ivy's are elitist and that is not an opinion based on conjecture but a fact based on research, elitism is a subjective word though, so you apparently take offense (as I should not have said pricks for that I am sorry, venting) but I for one am sick of elitist schools thinking that your LSAT score is going to make you a good attorney since you got into the "best" schools... This is for a lack of better words dead wrong... It is also true (as you can atest to) that there is grade inflation (if grades at all) in Ivy schools just to demonstrate abilities that otherwise might appear lacking... This is not how one should be graded, law school IS a competition when it comes down to it and your grade should be what you earned (no curves, no mercy, no bullshit)... Also it is also a researched fact that 1st tier schools in general tend to offer pure elective classes and a choice of classes right after the first term, and making it highly unlikely that you take ALL the adequate classes to prepare for the BAR... well good luck in all that you do, just remember your school is not what made you, but what you do at that school will be treasured for generations, (in other words you made the school, without you as a student there would be no law school).
