Extracurricular Information

I've been moderately active in and out of school during my time as an undergrad with jobs, a summer internship, and student organizations.

Additional Information

3/17/09: Well, it's pretty much done.

All of the schools I was accepted to have already finished sending out their merit scholarships over two weeks ago. I guess I should I be thankful that I even got accepted, but I'm pretty bummed. I can't afford any of the Top 30 schools I've been admitted to. Sure some people might say to still go, but the prospect of graduating law school with $125,000 in debt does not sit well with me.

Better luck to the rest of you. And if you're reading this for next cycle, above all, practice hard for the LSAT if you're reaching high.

Thanks for the comment -- I definitely don't realistically expect to hit one of those upper schools, but I figured it was worth the risk to apply.

And I'm definitely grateful to be in Georgia with UGA/Emory.

Good luck to you on your cycle, I hope you don't bump me out at GWU, BU or Emory =p nickwar

Thanks!! I got a phone call from BU. AU sent a package priority mail. With your numbers, you should be hearing from both schools soon as well. Good luck! kb4875a

UF Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at 5:00 pm
UF is really picky. My status has said "Under review by committee" for the past 2 weeks. I actually don't expect to get a decision from them until April. My other friends there said that's when they heard. connor08

I know, right?
I don't know if it's yield protection or what. I've been under review forever. I'd think the fact that I go here for undergrad would seal the deal. I'm at "decision pending" -- what does that even mean?

Congrats on your great cycle, especially on BU.. I'm waiting to hear from them and I may end up there! Hannah

just walk in over there "HEY GUYS. I was just wondering..."

let me know if you find anything out.

and it looks like you got a decision from BU in a matter of weeks. I hope it's the same for me.. They may be more swamped now though. Hannah

Good question. I think doing well at Fordham and getting a top NYC job would make paying off $100,000 in loans a possibility, but it is an intimidating figure.

But congrats on your cycle so far -- you've got a lot of great acceptances and options. nickwar

Congrats on all your acceptances! I was just wondering if you had to apply for the FSU scholarship or they just offered it? (and if so how long after you were accepted)
Thanks! mandyk

I've heard that they waitlist a lot of people. I' semi-scared too, because they are probably my first choice (numbers identical to yours). deaddrunkandnaked

After I got the big acceptance package I got a small letter in the mail with info about merit scholarships.. I didn't do anything to apply for them. I saw a lot of other people on TLS who got the same scholarship.. I think if you're near the 75%-iles you might just get it?

It looks like (unless something crazy happens) I will be at GW in the fall.. How about you? Hannah
