Congratulations on your first acceptance! So much for "4-6 weeks", right!? I am still waiting on answers from some of my September 1st applications.

I heard back from Syracuse initially via status checker, and then they emailed me a few days later.
Status changed to "a decision has been rendered" on 1/15/16. No word through long weekend. Called 1/18/16 requesting decision, office closed for MLK Day. Received return call VM stating that the decision cannot be given over the phone but an email would inform me of decision today. Received acceptance and scholarship emails within a few hours.
