i've heard pretty good things about UM recruiting....way to go on USD when did you find out? It's one of my top choices because I love the city. What' yours? Did they send you any emails and how did you check your status?

i've been to san diego a few times and loved it. i know that my lsats ruined my chance for a strong national reputation school, so I have to go for a strong regional school in an area I want to practice and live. there is not a better school in a better place to live when it comes to regional schools in my opinion, so right now i think its my top choice. let me know if you decide on it, it would be awesome to already know someone!

Good luck on your apps. Our numbers are similar. Similar congratulations are in order for being ambedextrous.

I've been wondering things about Miami as well... but my thoughts have centered more on hurricanes and whether I will be able to withstand them.
I work with estate planning compliance right now, and I must say... great job prospects for UM grads, especially those involved with taxation. (This is all based upon $$$ amount; the bank I work for has lots of UM alum clients). Its one of the best known schools in the Miami area, so jobs are abundant there. It gets a bit tougher out of state, but the school does have good name recognition and, like most places, if you stay in the top of your class you get noticed.

Another thing with UM is that they have a lot of law review opportunities. I know Emory being small makes it extremely competitive to make law review. I have several friends in at UM who tell me that the opportunity make law review is there if you want it. It is a lot of extra work but they allow a lot of students to edit articles and get their names mentioned.

Yea, I went to see Emory and loved it...I would probably still go to GW if they accept me before I sign a lease at Emory, but we'll see. I really liked Emory when I went to see it...great campus, great school, etc (including the TI:GER program for IP law, which I am interested in). There were SO many places to live around the campus..mostly apt complexes..the nicest one was Post Briarcliff, which was the priciest...but there were like 5 Post properties around Emory, and a few other nice ones. I did see a terrible one..so ghetto, and the whole tour seemed to be out of a saturday night live skit..anyway, atlanta is also pretty liberal..especially when compared to the rest of Georgia (I heard they just passed a law making some month the "confederate history pride month" or something like that..)
are you going to the accepted students' weekend?

I'm living at the Post Briarcliff next year. It is really nice and very affordable compared to other arrangements. I hope you pick Emory as your attending school. I love it here and do not regret the choice.
