All scholarship amounts are for a 3 year period unless otherwise specified

1st acceptance of the cycle! In at Southwestern via email! Wow that was fast
1/24/2011- Applications to Indiana and Wisconsin complete
1/25/2011- Application to Pepperdine complete
1/28/2011- Application to Santa Clara complete
1st ding of the cycle from UIUC. Never expected to get in anyways but still sucks.
In at Chicago-Kent and Loyola-Chicago! Takes a bit of the sting off of UIUC
In via snail mail at Pacific along with $18,000/year scholarship and all of my first year books paid for! Nice end to a whirlwind of a day
1/30/2011- Decided on a whim to submit applications to ASU and Temple. Not one of my smarter decisions but I figured that it wouldn't hurt
2/1/2011- Applications to ASU and Temple complete
2/4/2011- Application status to Pepperdine changed to "Decision Rendered." I hate that so much!!!!!!
2/7/2011- In at Santa Clara via online status check. I am shocked at how many schools I have heard from so far
2/9/2011- In at Pepperdine via Wavenet!!!! I never expected to get in there, so this is a nice surprise
2/10/2011- Acceptance letter from Santa Clara included an $8,000/year merit scholarship! Woohoo!!!!
2/14/2011- Admissions packet from Loyola University Chicago arrived offering me a $10,000/year scholarship. Good start to what I hope will be a great week :-)
2/15/2011- Admissions packet from Chicago-Kent arrived today giving me a choice between a $20,000/year scholarship if I maintain a 3.25 GPA or a $12,000/year scholarship with no strings attached. So far, this week is shaping up exactly how I hoped it would.
2/25/2011- Big packet in the mail from Lewis and Clark welcoming me to the school. They said that I would have gotten a scholarship, but they had already distributed all of their scholarship funds and if I wanted to be considered for scholarships I needed to let them know so they could allot me $$$ if it became available. Decent way to end the week.
3/3/2011- Email from Wisconsin informing me that I had been put on the waitlist. Not surprising, but was hoping for a better outcome as it was probably my #1. Could be worse, but this just drags the stress out until summer :-(
In at USF. No $$$ though. A little surprised about that as I have scholarship offers from schools ranked 20 spots higher
3/12/2011- Waitlisted at Loyola. This sucks
3/31/2011- Woke up this morning to an email from UW-Madison telling me that the admissions committee voted to admit me to the first year class in 2011. Guess my LOCI helped. Tier 1 here I come! ON WISCONSIN!!!!!!!
4/2/2011- Rejected from ASU via snail mail. Can't say I really care but I am not sure if I should be surprised or not given the fact that while my LSAT was above their 75th percentile, I did submit my application really late.
4/8/2011- Waitlisted at USD. In reality I could really care less. At this point, the only realistic thing that could happen to yank me away from Wisconsin would be an acceptance to Indiana. If the skies parted and I got into Davis that might make a difference too, but at this point, it looks like I am going to be a Badger. Honestly, considering what has gone on in my life over the past six years I am not sure I could be any happier than I am with the prospects of spending the next few years of my life in Madison. It sounds uber cliche, but this whole experience has taught me that if you work hard enough and want something bad enough, dreams do come true :-)
4/11/11- In at Temple via e-mail. The e-mail was very nice and it felt good to get another acceptance after a rejection and a waitlist.
4/14/11- Officially rejected from UC Hastings, and not at all surprised. I am really not entirely sure why I applied honestly given the fact that I would not have wanted to go there even if I got in and the fact that I had a miniscule chance of being accepted to begin with. One thing I am sure about is that I will not lose a wink of sleep over it.
4/26/11- Email from Lewis and Clark saying that they could not allocate any scholarship money, oh well. I guess the moral of the story is applying earlier>applying later
In spite of this, I received an email from Chicago Kent saying that they increased my scholarship total by $5,000 per year. That being said, I don' t think that it will make much of a difference
Snail mail from IU rejecting me. I thought it would hurt more than it does but it really doesn't at all. Unless I am completely allergic to the University of Wisconsin I will be a Badger and could not be happier.
5/12/11- Rejected by UC Davis via online status check, cycle complete. Final record is 10-5-2, which isn't too bad. This experience has been a grind but I have learned a whole lot. Above all else, DO NOT piss away undergrad like I did. I was relatively fortunate as I was able to score well enough on the LSAT to get into a half decent law school that I wanted to go to. However had I taken undergrad seriously it would be entirely correct for me to think that my options would have been better than they were. On a more positive note, I learned that if you do end up taking undergrad for granted, the LSAT can counterbalance a bad GPA in almost any case, so prepare for the LSAT like your life depends on it (in reality, it kinda does) and enjoy the time you spend preparing. On a related note, take the June LSAT, which will allow you to take the October LSAT if you need to retake without sacrificing valuable time for submitting applications. That being said, no matter when you take the LSAT, have all of your applications COMPLETELY finished and proofread (this includes personal statement, supplemental essays and resumes) before your LSAT score arrives. All in all, good luck to everyone and if you have any questions, I am still around and will happily do my best to answer any questions you may have.
On Wisconsin!
Any word on $ from Southwestern?
