Dec. 16th: IN AT USD. Scholarship offers begin in late January. First California school and I'm stoked.
Dec. 17th: HELD AT BC. Not happy about this at all, but it's better than a rejection or waitlist. I see some ED rejections, so I suppose it's a positive for not getting the outright Ding. One thing I like about BC is that they guarantee ED's that get deferred a deadline for a final decision of Feb. 28th.
Dec 18th: IN AT SANTA CLARA. Great rebound from a disappointing day yesterday. I'm thinking that this will be my last acceptance of 2008 since everyone else seems to be taking their time with me and the status checkers haven't changed. I'm happy where I'm at right now.
Dec 19th: HELD AT TEXAS. Another bummer. Better than a denial or waitlist, but they saw me once and didn't pull the trigger, and now I have no clue when I'll hear back. The e-mail states "by Mid-April at the latest." Lame.
Dec 20th: Scholarship offer from Santa Clara came in a separate small envelope. They offered me their Emery Merit Scholarship. It's an impressive offer, but it stipulates that I need to be Top 25% of the class to maintain it.
Dec. 22nd: IN AT MINNESOTA. A lovely and personable call to notify me. I was wrong about not getting another offer this year. I'm glad I was! Information to come.
Dec. 26th: IN AT EMORY. Ok, so I was really wrong about not getting another acceptance this year. No scholarship info. yet. Minnesota's official offer also came in the mail. They offered me $15,000 a year, renewable with a 2.5 GPA. Excited to be where I'm at this early in my cycle.

hey.... Friday, November 7th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
my list isn't set yet but I am also applying to a couple of other programs that aren't listed so I've got my bases covered. If not, I've accepted I might have to take a year off to re-do LSAT/apps/etc. Looks like we're in similar situations. Best of luck on your cycle and you're pro-activeness inspires me to send out my apps!

Thanks! I feel very blessed thus far. Best of luck with your apps! I'm sure you'll hear from some of your schools soon. That first acceptance will be extra sweet :)
