"Received" is the date that the school requested the report from LSAC.
10-03-07: In at Duke, via e-mail (priority track)
10-31-07: Complete via e-mail at Harvard, but no phone interview request yet. Doomed?
11-12-07: In at Texas, via phone call (nice of them to do on a holiday)
11-13-07: Status checker at Michigan says "Decision" as of this morning. Oh my goodness.
11-15-07: That big, beautiful package with the big block M came today. Am I a total geek for enjoying the movie they sent so much?
11-23-07: Double activity today. Accepted at WUSTL (with news that I am being considered for one of their Scholars in Law Awards).
Also, letter from Texas with offer of $21,000 (and possibly more later).
12-01-07: In at Wayne State, via snail-mail (very thin letter-sized envelope).
12-07-07: Double activity again. E-mail from W&L offering admission.
Snail-mail from UIUC, offering admission and a full tuition scholarship. Nice!
12-28-07: In at Virginia, via e-mail. Letter to follow.
1-08-08: In at Cardozo, via phone call, with full tuition and $10k stipend. Very cool!
Held at Northwestern today as well, but I was already withdrawing so I don't mind.
1-11-08: Got my envelope from Virginia today. I'm a Dean's Scholar (which means I can hope for at least half-tuition scholarship)! Nice.
Also held at Penn, which is a bit upsetting, but coming on the heels of the Virginia packet it stings a little less.
1-12-08: Held at Notre Dame. That's a little crappy of them. I probably would have only chosen ND for a full scholarship, so I guess I shouldn't be too upset. I will be withdrawing from ND on Monday.
1-16-08: Finally got my acceptance package from Vanderbilt. The status checker said it was mailed on the 9th, but I didn't get it until today. I got the Priority Mail package--no sign of the smaller envelope yet. The package is very nice, by the way. Nicely done, Vandy!
1-22-08: In at Michigan State. King's Scholar with full tuition scholarship, renewable with 3.0 GPA (King renewable with 3.5).
Status changed to "Decision" on the GULC website.
1-28-08: In at GULC, via snail-mail. Nice hand-written note on the letter.
2-02-08: Letter from Wayne State, offering Dean's Scholarship (full tuition for three years). Very cool.
2-06-08: Got the deferral e-mail from Harvard today. Not surprising, but disappointing nonetheless.
2-14-08: Held at Columbia today. On a bit of a bad streak.
3-1-08: Letter from Vanderbilt, offering $25,000 per year (Chancellor's Law Scholarship).
3-17-08: In at USC via snail mail today. My first positive admissions news in quite a while.
3-23-08: Busy day. $54,000 from Duke, and that's the extent of the good news.
Waitlisted at Chicago, rejected at Boalt (after being held), and rejected at Cornell (applied late).
3-24-08: Withdrawing from everywhere, and sending my seat deposit to Michigan. It was pretty much always going to be this way, but it was fun to explore options, and the Virginia money helped me get more from Michigan.
4-18-08: Waitlisted at NYU (stuck around to see what would happen).
4-21-08: Withdrew from NYU
4-25-08: Waitlisted at Harvard. Thrilled to have been even considered, but I don't think I'll be hanging around.

Thanks, pinktiki. I'm sure you will be hearing from Duke early this week. Good luck with the rest of your cycle as well!

Awesome about Duke. No $$ yet?
Not yet Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 at 10:58 am
I don't know when they start talking $$, but I'd love to hear it!
$$ Tuesday, October 9th, 2007 at 11:16 am
It looks like last year, they didn't start awarding scholarships until mid-Dec. and into Jan. and Feb.
Thanks Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007 at 11:52 am
I wish I had your LSAT. I know Mich is a long shot for me...but I'm leaning on soft factors, the ~8% chance that I have, and sheer good luck. Hope your cycle is great; I'm sure you'll have lots of acceptances from which to choose!
Virginia Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007 at 12:53 pm
Me too. Why spend an extra $75?
No more admits yet? Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at 1:18 am
What's with these slow-pokes?
No kidding! Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
I am ready to go nuts with all this waiting. Wasn't it around mid-November when most schools started last year?
Yeah... Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at 6:18 pm
but what's there to think about w/ your numbers? Did you end up applying ED anywhere?
LSAT Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at 7:16 pm
I am only cautiously confident with my LSAT score. I'm not sure that it is good enough for the highest ranked schools.
I didn't do ED anywhere, because I didn't want to lose any chance of $$

Good call Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 at 11:44 am
You'll definately get money. There's no point in being overly cautious.
UTJD Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Are you from Texas? It seems UT is letting people in from out of state before anyone from Texas, even with higher numbers, like you have-- so I was thinking you must be from Texas.
Nope Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
Not from Texas. They have only let a few people in (at least that have reported here), so I wouldn't worry if you haven't been accepted yet and you are getting nervous. The cycle hasn't even really revved up yet.
Oh well...... Saturday, November 10th, 2007 at 12:24 am
Well, that blows my theory!!
Congrats! Monday, November 12th, 2007 at 7:04 pm
On Texas!

You're batting .1000! Personally, I would go with the warmer climate.
Michigan Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 at 12:42 am

I got a letter (one page, letter-sized envelope) via snail-mail today.
Michigan Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 10:47 am
Yeah, I went to visit the school right before I sent in my application. Best college town I've seen in a while.
Wayne State Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 7:26 pm
So the Wayne AdCom finally broke down and realized they just couldn't bring themselves to YP ding you.
Didn't you find the letter uninspiring? I was hoping for a fun brochure or something... Oops, forgot to say, Congratulations!

They probably deferred you because they figured you would get into better schools. A LOCI would probably get you in with money, but it's probably not worth the extra effort considering that you got into several better schools.

Will you be going to Michigan's ASW in March?

Michigan ASW in March Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Hi S2DNT,
Congrats on your acceptances! It's good to hear from you. I am planning on attending the March ASW. We will have to have a lawschoolnumbers get-together with the rest of the LSN folks when we're all there. I was accepted for Summer term, but if you end up going to Mich. in Fall or Summer, I'll see you there either way!

I didn't know her, but everyone says she was pretty normal, and not crazy-seeming. I guess it's hard to predict the type of person who will become a kidnapper.
Michigan Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Hi S2DNT,
Good to hear from you again. I am still waiting to hear from other schools to weigh my options; but Michigan has always been one of my top 3 choices. I think a lot will depend on financial aid. My parents are both really poor and I'll need all the aid I can get if I'm going to make the law school dream come to fruition. I'm glad to know that you are summer start, too! If we both end up going to Michigan, we should definitely meet. It'll be nice to have LSN friends.
Talk to you soon,
aniedrich84

WOOOHOOO! Now you can finally withdraw from Michigan with the comfort of knowing that you'll be going to Michigan State!
ND Thursday, January 24th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
I got deferred at Notre Dame too. Your numbers are way better than mine but I still think it's wierd that we can get into Michigan, but not Notre Dame.
But who needs Notre Dame anyway.

how did they let you know? i haven't heard anything and the deadline for early application notification is friday. i'm afraid i missed a memo or something...

On Georgetown!
Why Friday, February 29th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
...have we not been accepted by USC and UCLA yet?
Withdrawing Saturday, March 1st, 2008 at 11:22 am
Same here. once I get accepted, I'll probably be out the next day at those two schools. There really is no reason for it to take so long.
$$ Monday, March 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 am
ender, you have so much money being thrown at you its ridiculous. shame on UVA and duke for not giving you any!
What's up Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
I have to say dude... it's pretty impressive that it's almost the end of March and you still haven't actually been rejected anywhere (knock on wood).
so far... Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Yeah--only 5 schools to go. I think I will be withdrawing from pretty much everywhere this or next week, so I may avoid the bad news entirely. (Or I could get a flood of bad news before I can WD!)
No way Monday, March 24th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
You gotta hold out and see how you do... just so you know. I could never live w/ myself w/out knowing.
Decisions Monday, March 24th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Well, it looks like I should have withdrawn before today! Oh well--I know where I am going, so everything else was just gravy.
A~ Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
Congrats on making it official! I'm resisting the urge to super-stalk Mich - trying to figure out how many LOCIs are too many LOCIs.
