SpiderPig (2022-2023)

Kind of a weird case. I worked for eight years before graduating and, even though my GPA is low, my graduating GPA is a 3.94.

Lots of work experience.

1/25 - GOT INTO W&L!! My first acceptance (via email in the morning). Technically the lowest-ranked school I applied to, but it's the closest to home and I LOVED IT there. No word on scholarships or not. Good news. Good day.

Scholarship amount is per year. Got scholarship info about a week later or so.

2/19 - Decision at G-Town. After almost a month of nothing, it's nice to hear something. I have a good feeling about this one.

2/21 - In at G-Town via snail mail. I expected it. Nice little note from the Dean. It's tempting.

2/28 - Decision at UVA. Less confident about this one.

2/29 - Feeling a little more confident than last night, but checked the mail - nothing yet. Damn. I'm halfway considering calling the Charlottesville post office and driving up there to find out. That would probably be weird. That would be frowned upon. But I'm going to be more than a little distracted at the W&L ASW tonight/tomorrow.

2/29 - Here at the W&L ASW, opened up my email to find that I'd been invited to an admitted students BBQ, then got the email clarifying that I'd gotten in later that day.

Sweet.

3/1 - Got the official snail mail invite from UVA.

3/15 - Waitlisted at Emory - window snail mail. Seems like a yield protect (can't blame 'em), and I'd wager that, given my relatively unique numbers/situation, the YP was done based on my LSN profile. I'd do the same thing if I were them, so no big deal. I was kind of hoping to sweep my cycle, but, like I said, I can't blame them for making the smart decision.

(later that day) Decided to withdraw from Emory. I liked the school a lot, but it doesn't make much sense for me to be on their waitlist.

3/24 - Deferred at Northwestern via email to check status checker. I won't keep myself in consideration for admission. Oh well.

4/1 - Tormented myself all week last week thinking it over and decided to go with UVA. Didn't get a chance to check out GULC, unfortunately, but there were several other mitigating factors which led to my decision.. And with that, my cycle is over.
