Additional info & updates

URM is race, though I prefer not to specify.

My numbers aren't outstanding, but I do have strong letters of recommendation from a former professor and my employer. All in all, I feel like I have good soft factors. I also show upward trend in my GPA.

I wrote an addendum for my GPA, as a medical reason caused me to take incompletes from all but one professor. I received an F in that class which brought down my GPA. Also, I had to take concurrent classes at a local CC where I just barely did enough to pass, not realizing that ALL transcripts would count.

1-20-12

UR at LSU

1-23-12

Just got my first decision. Tulsa waitlisted me. Hopefully that means I can at least get on the Texas Tech waitlist.

1-31-12

I called OU today to find out why I haven't received a status checker password. Turns out they aren't using it this cycle. The woman that answered the phone was very nice and let me know that my application was in a batch that would most likely have a decision rendered in about 2 weeks. I've got my fingers crossed.

2-3-12

Just went under review at Texas Tech. I'm really hoping for TTU since it has everything I am looking for and it seems like I have a good shot.

2-4-12

UR at Loyola NO. Weird that I would get that update on a Saturday.

2-8-12

Decision mailed for St. Mary's

2-9-12

Accepted at Loyola New Orleans! It may not be the highest on my list, but it's just nice to know that I will be going to law school for sure this year! I made sure to only apply to schools that I know I would attend.

2-13-12

Accepted via e-mail (seat deposit information) at St. Mary's! I'm really happy so far! I called OU today and they told me that I would probably receive email confirmation one week from today.

2-21-11

Dinged at TTU. I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm still hoping for OU. I know it's a reach school, but I have to hope they'll take me. I should be OK with St. Mary's or Loyola, but I'm really hoping for a higher ranked school.

Good luck on your cycle, we applied to some of the same schools!

Story of my life! I am torn between UH and TTU. In comparable terms (to other TX schools) their tuition is sweet and graduates leave with about the same debt +/- $5,000. But thanks, and perhaps we will be classmates!
