Additional info & updates

4/27/11: Attending Berkeley.

*Just a note. Some of these days may be a bit off because I either can't find the emails confirming these dates or because mailings put the actual date a few days off.

Timeline:

10/10/10: Applied to all but just a few schools.

10/21/10: Exactly 10 days after going complete, got the accept at Duke. Priority Track is the bomb, and so is Duke's weather. If I get 60k or more in schollies from Duke, I would have a hard time turning this down for anywhere in the T-14.

10/27/10: In @ Michigan, and probably so within the first 25 applicants.

11/8/10: In @ Georgetown. I got the acceptance letter from GULC and the package from UM on the same exact day. Quite an excited phone call to the parents.

11/29/10: In @ Cornell. Kind of weird. A lot of my friends got the axe with similar numbers. Not sure if I'd attend without a scholarship.

12/13/10: Got the expected acceptance to UMN. Scholarship isn't quite as high as I had hoped for an in-state resident.

12/30/10: In @ Vandy. Assuming 70-90k, will seriously consider attending.

1/10/11: Sigh. Waitlisted at Chicago. I saw this coming from miles away with my LSAT, which is just not *quite* up to par. Ah well. Yoda's rationalizing tells me that a crappy LRAP and unsure life ambitions would not have UChi a good choice for me made.

1/14/11: This is the option I had expected from Minnesota. Full tuition scholarship at UIUC. I can very easily see myself taking this. The T-14 have those impressive names, but at the end of the day the world of today is different than the world of three or four years ago, and taking on $150k of dept seems absurd.

1/21/11: Waitlisted at Notre Dame.

2/3/11: Waitlisted @ Columbia. Not surprised.

2/4/11: Waitlisted @ UVA. Seriously, UVA, your policy of waitlisting everyone who doesn't ED? It's dumb. Would have seriously, seriously considered UVA under different circumstances.

2/16/11: Holy crap. Admitted to Berkeley. This could potentially be a game changer.
