Additional info & updates

Update: UB came back with a generous scholarship offer. I added that to my GI Bill amounts here. Still committed to Elon though.

**********
Pleased with the cycle overall. Campbell was going to be a stretch considering how late in the cycle I applied. I also had to call Campbell to get the application out of the "received" status and into an actual review. That was a simple administrative error from their office, they said, but it also cost me a week. Basically, they lost my application without actually using those words. They only found it well after they had already filled their class. Keep a closer eye on that app-tracker and follow-up with the office sooner. Lesson learned.

Elon's admissions dean is wonderful. She called me on a Friday, the day after she received the application, but I missed her call. She informed me on the next Monday that I had been admitted.

I saw admission from Baltimore on the online tracker and then received a phone call that week from the dean.

Regent's dean sent me an email to offer admission as well as a phone call.

Combining the military GI Bill benefits along with what the universities offered by way of the Yellow Ribbon addition or other scholarships, I was planning on having NO debt from tuition expenses.

With Baltimore I would have to wait a year before I could apply for in-state residency so the economics weren't best there. With Regent and Elon I would attend tuition-free.

The dollar amounts listed here cover all three years and include a combination of the veteran GI Bill benefit plus any Yellow Ribbon addition and/or school offered scholarships. I include these to help other veterans realize how affordable their post-service education could be.

Good luck to everyone and remember to borrow as little as necessary.
