Additional info & updates

4/15Hofstra upped their scholarship from 25,000 to 30,000 on their own accord. Also, it was on the date of the first seat deposit.

4/17 Once again, Hofstra increased its scholarship money to a total of 35,000 now.

5/2 After multiple unanswered phone calls offering to negotiate my scholarship, NYLS mailed an increased offer of 30,000 from their initial 20,000.

It wasn't worth applying considering how much NYLS contacts me on a weekly basis.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you write for your Mason Statement?

did you have anything special in your application to get into IU Bloomington?

I didn't include anything special in my IUB app that didn't get sent to other schools as well. For most of my apps I included a standerd personal statement and an additional statement that explained a minor that wasn't awarded to me. (The program was cut but I completed the requirements afterwards.) I do speculate that IUB was kind to me because I was a music major and Bloomington currently has the No1. music program in the nation. Good luck with your apps!

I'm really leaning towards IUB, but I have some financial concerns with the school. I need to justify if the debt is worth the education. Otherwise, I might be better going off to SUNY Buffalo. (Even though is not a spectacular place to spend 3 years.) I have a free trip to IUB this weekend so I will have a better idea later on. Also, IUI sent me a scholarship letter today, (a solid month after I got an accepted letter) so I should look again into the school.

they are getting desperate...I think they upped everyones scholarships. I think that US News Rankings plunge is killing them
