Additional info & updates

12/7 Got rejection letter from Georgetown......at least they bothered writing me back! They noted that 12,000 applicants go for 575 spots, and that they have to turn away many qualified applicants. My question is, if I'm one of the qualified, then why didn't they just defer me to the regular application pool? Damn Georgetown!

12/15 Finished my last final today, and I was so sure that a letter was going to arrive in the mail....I hate waiting....Not as much as I hate Georgetown...

12/20 Accepted at University of Houston!!!! My number one choice! I applied Early Decision (which I found out is non-binding), and I plan to attend! I was notified by email, with the letter to arrive soon.

1/8 Accepted at Arkansas....not really my number one choice, but with the scholarship, could become the cheapest option for me.....Lower ranked than the University of Houston, but Arkansas has a good name.....probably because of the football team......But do I really want to live in Arkansas?

Congrats on U of H, I just got in yesterday. I went to look at the law school today. So far that's my best option. Just wanted to say congrats and maybe I'll see ya there in the fall :)

Wow you freaked me out! Early decision for U of H is nonbinding! I checked their website. I was like what...bind??? But yeh, it's nonbinding, it just means that you have to apply before Nov. 1st and you will get a decision by Feb.15th. Way to scare me lol. I guess it doesn't matter since it's your first choice :)

Arkansas

Congrats on Arkansas (both admission and scholarship). I'm attending UA right now as an undergraduate, and I love it. If you haven't ever visited this area, you should give it a chance. Great college town, not exactly urban, but it has a lot of the ammenities of a larger place. I say all this, and I'm probably going to UA-Little Rock. But still, it's not too shabby here.

Honestly, you can make what you want to out of the area. There are some distractions (Dickson Street, some clubs, and of course the Razorbacks) but the school's located in a more historic part of town, and the school is somewhat secluded on the top of "The Hill." The campus has a nice atmosphere...kind of like Ole Miss, before Oxford became overdeveloped and over-commercialized.
