Additional info & updates

The LSAT may just be the death of me, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and leaving it in God's hands

Also since it wasn't listed in this - I don't know if holds count, but for now on "hold" with Case Western and SMU

Either way, it is actually better than I had expected so far....so I'm just going to keep the positive vibes going :)

2/17/10 - Rejection at Baylor for fall semester same day off acceptance call from Tennessee - thank God I heard Tennessee first! And I hear Baylor's a lot easier to get into in Spring anyway.

2/22/10 - Rejection at UT Austin in conjunction with the the acceptance at UTennessee - hell at least, one UT likes me (j/k - I know UT Austin was a longshot but that hold gave me a lot of hope)

4/1/10 - I'm in waitlist "heaven" - I really was hoping for U of H, but will push hard for that waitlist - right now just trying to decide between Tennessee and Utah - (i.e. which place has somewhat more national reach?) - Rankings are quite a moot point, and just concerned about the environment of Salt Lake City - being a non-Mormon, non-Christian, non-Caucasian in a pretty conservative state - hmmm? So far, though, I'm going with Tennessee.

Well, I still have my holds and IU to hear from (stream of consciousness saying PLEASE, God - let one of the three be an acceptance, not that I am not fully honored to be on a waitlist and am staying positive about it, but stilll....please?)

5/1/10 - As of Now, I'm in what I call "gamble" mode with law school. Just going to see what happens with my waitlists. Still have IU to hear from and I withdrew all my acceptances, but I've gotten an amazing offer for a really good masters program at UT Austin that can still help me achieve my goals to work in the non-profit/NGO world without being up to my knees in ridiculous debt trying to truly help people.

It's been quite a journey - and I'm glad I took this year off to realize the application process of law school - and what I really want. It is (FOR THE MOST PART) a lot of numbers, despite what people say, and I'm in no way bitter about it. Just better informed and learned it the hard way. If my waitlists do not work for whatever reason - or if I just don't find the debt to be feasible right now, I'm just going to go later. My life isn't over if it doesn't happen for me now =) and I'm glad I kept a backup option that for some reason I'm more excited about than my current acceptances - never thought that would happen!
