Additional info & updates

Note: All scholarship numbers are per year.

12/18 - Found out I am in at Nebraska via phone. $10K yearly scholarship offer (with stipulations) via phone. First decision. Very relieved about this early Christmas present!

12/19 - Arizona - "Decision Rendered" via status checker. What's the decision?

(Got back from vacation on 12/29, that's why it took so long for the following info)

12/29 - Nebraska scholarship stipulations for second and third years: top 50% of class.

12/29 - Waitlisted at Arizona. I'm OK with that. Still not a rejection!

1/3 - In at Texas Tech via email.

1/4 - Texas Tech scholarship info via email. Stipulation: top 50% of class to keep scholarship for 2nd and 3rd years.

1/7 - San Diego - "Decision Rendered" via status checker.

1/11 - In at San Diego. Really excited about this one.

1/22 - Gonzaga - Decision made via status checker.
1/26 - Accepted at Gonzaga. $19.5k scholarship with 2.75 gpa stipulation.

2/1 - Seattle - Received an email from the assistant dean today letting me know that my official admission packet is in the mail.

2/11 - Willamette - Received my official admission packed today. They sent it out on 2/7. Also, I have been offered a Dean Scholarship worth $16,000 with a 2.9 gpa stipulation for 2 & 3 years.

2/15 - Nebraska just increased my scholarship offer from $10,000 to $16,650. They may be back in the running.

2/16 - Received my admit packet from Seattle U. $9,000 scholly with top 50% stip. PLUS, a $3,000 stipend for my first year only.

2/25 - Gonzaga increased their scholly offer by $1,500.

2/27 - Received U of Oregon's decision. Waitlisted, oh well. Withdrawn.

3/1 - Been whittling down the schools that I'm no longer interested in to open up spots for other applicants.

3/5 - Lewis & Clark have reviewed my application. I'm waiting for their official decision in the mail.

3/18 - Lewis & Clark sent me an email saying that they have reviewed my application but they haven't made a decision yet. I should expect to hear from them within the next month to month and a half.

3/20 - Utah's decision came in the mail. Denied. It's validation that I didn't "under-apply".

4/3 - Lewis & Clark finally got back to me only to tell me that I'm waitlisted. That's ok. I withdrew my spot.

4/17 - WL at UNLV

5/02 - Got the dreaded rejection letter from Arizona State

We have similar numbers and I'm guessing we may attend the same private school in Utah. I'm applying to quite a few of the same schools, so I'll be keeping an eye on your profile. Best of luck on your cycle.

You're welcome for the service to our country. It was a great experience. You'll have your choice of some really good schools. Best of luck in getting into the one you want most

We have been accepted to a lot of the same schools Texas Tech,Gonzaga,Nebraska and I also am waitlisted at UofA. Feel free to email me. I had a professor at Nebraska contacted me about their large number of LDS law students...wonder if you've had the same experience.

Arizona has to let u in.

We have similar numbers and a lot of schools in common. I also got into Nebraska, but without any scholarship. It's a little surprising because our scholarship amounts are so close at the other schools. Did you ask them for an increase from 10 to 16, or did they just give it to you? Can I ask what school you're leaning toward right now?

Sunday, October 07 2012 at 08:00 PM

Awesome, thanks for volunteering in the USAR. You'll enjoy your time and likely get into Arizona too...u should be very optimistic.

Is the meeting you're planning on attending in Provo? If so, I'll probably be there too. I'm leaning toward TT as well. I'm going to their open house on April 5-6. Are you going? Penn St. is the other school I'm really interested by right now. If the U lets me in, I'll definitely attend there. The UNL went up 28 spots ( to 61) in the brand new US News rankings that dropped today. That's something to think about.

That's a bummer you didn't get into Utah. With our stats being similar, I'm sure my rejection letter is on its way.

Sunday, October 07 2012 at 08:00 PM

Man, Arizona's taking forever to get you off of that WL. They should hurry up and accept you. Are you leaning toward Nebraska now?

Sunday, October 07 2012 at 08:00 PM

You should literally be the next guy in off the UNLV WL. I'm glad you like it and hope you hear good news from them within the next few days or shortly after the first. Continued best of luck at UNLV and Arizona in general and good luck if Arizona lets you in off their WL in like late June. You probably have all that figured out in terms of pecking order. ..still tough waiting though. I feel your pain.
