Additional info & updates

I didn't care so much about college, as evident by my GPA but hoping my LSAT score and charming personality will get me into one of these schools.

Power of positive thinking!

04/04/06 - Still have not heard from anyone, starting to get nervous.

04/10/06 - Waitlisted at NYLS, at least I know that I can get into law school, now if I only would.

04/13/06 - I Love Hofstra!
Still hoping for more options but at least I'm in.

04/27/06 - I sent in my seat deposit for Hofstra ($850) but I am still hoping for Brooklyn or Cardozo to let me in. All other schools are off the table.

05/01/06 - Belive it or not, I have not heard good nor bad from anyone else. I checked and all my apps are complete but there have been no decisions yet.

05/04/06 - Still no word from anyone else, but now Hofstra is offering me money ($7500 per year). It looks like Hofstra is going to be the winner by default, but I'm not complaining.

05/22/06 - 3 Waitlists, but no rejections yet, there is still time for a miracle (are you listining Cardozo/Brooklyn?). Withdrawn from Pace, Rutgers, and NYLS.

06/19/06 - Accepted to NYLS of waitlist, I guess they never got my withdrawal. I'm happy that I got in, and the location is great, but the $$ from Hofstra is too good to pass up. I will officialy withdraw (for a second time) Monday.

06/21/06 - Last week from I got a strange phone call from Seton Hall about my application not being complete and they have been trying to contact me for months, I sent them the stuff they asked for and they have decided to accept me PT. Sorry guys too late, I will officialy withdraw on Monday.

06/23/06 - After all the waiting it seems that I my applications are finally getting decided apon. So far I have been accepted at 3 places (1 off a waitlist) and waitlisted at 2 places (withdrawn from all of them), I still have two application pending, they are my reach schools, but so far I have been lucky, so maybe I will make it in. I'm still hopeful, but I am in no way holding my breath, for now I am really happy with Hofstra and all plans are to attend there in August.

06/29/06 - My first rejection, Cardozo (in a very nice letter) denied me addmission. It hurts a little just becuase I was on such a roll, but it was a reach anyway. Well down to one, Brooklyn (what's taking so long??), so it is looking like Hofstra is going to be the winner.

I know it's definitely hurt my chances but I'm just praying for a miracle. I declined NYLS so hope that will open up a spot (even if it's on a waitlist). If you haven't called to check on the status of your file, I would. So many schools had me incomplete when I wasn't... I guess b/c it's crunch time. Good luck and I hope you get your 1st choice!

I'm not withdrawing from anywhere until I send in a deposit for somewhere. Also I'm only on the waitlist so I'm not taking anyones spot.

Congrats to you as well. I noticed a trend; Hofstra is offering money to applicants with above average scores. That should help their rankings going foward. See you in August. Go Hofstra

They are very nice and helpful at Hofstra, but it was really NYLS that eliminated themselves. E-mail me if you want to know the exact reason. I'll e-mail you the letter I sent them.

Yeah, they pretty much blew their chances with me. I hope my LSD post will dissuade others from going as well.
