did miami waitlist you or are you in the hold category?

Wednesday, February 06 2013 at 07:00 PM

Hold category I believe, as the word 'waitlist' was never formally used, same with FIU, who just said: "We have decided to hold your application for further review/no definitive decision can be made on your application at this time." The letter(s) then said they would revisit my application by/around April 30th for Miami and after April 1st for FIU.

when tulsa waitlisted you, did you attempt to send in a loci or did you withdraw? i just got waitlisted and am wondering how long ill have to wait

Tulsa waitlisted me, and then literally 1-2 weeks after that (from what I remember it wasn't very long at all, though my time frame may be slighty off) I was notified via snail mail from the school that they "could not at this time recommend me as a candidate for admission," (a rejection). Not sure if they normally operate this quickly or how their process changes since its so late in the cycle, but with me they got back to me quickly.

thanks for the info man i appreciate it and congrats on the massive iui scholarship!

Thanks, they recently upped it and the stipulation is a bit tough, but not impossible. Pretty substantial increase though from the original 66,000 three year total. Just when I thought I had made my decision, a new curveball comes my way. Good luck with Tulsa! Are they your #1?

Its between them and Oklahoma. I want to get into energy law since I've interned in energy companies most summers and both schools have energy specific programs. That or get into one and try to transfer to uh.

Hey! When exactly did FIU let you know of your acceptance? Where you previously on the waitlist?

Congratulations on your cycle!

Thanks everyone! Legally brunette, I responded to your message so hopefully that helps you! I got a phone call from FIU on April 3rd (after I had been 'on hold' since January 22) and was told that if I was still interested in FIU, to please let them know and that they would get me a decision 10-14 business days from the date of the phone call, the 3rd of April. On April 22, I received a "decision made, letter mailed" status update from FIU, and politely asked the admissions office to email me my decision (I knew from past years they had done this for students) so I could make a quick decision because it was so late in the cycle--they did so immediately.
