-have one LOR in, waiting on second
-still tweaking PS while I wait, hoping to get ED app in to UVA this week

11/25 -
-still waiting on second LOR to be processed before applying to UVA, going to mail secondary app stuff today
-applied to Gtown, Bama, American and Temple (none require 2 LOR)
-after talking to admissions at UVA realized that most schools take incomplete apps and will get sent the LOR that I'm waiting on so sent in apps for Cincy, W&M, UGA, and UVA

-after firing off the group of apps over thanksgiving i'm starting to receive confirmation emails and links to check application status. hope there are some quick decisions.

- LSAC has had my final LOR for almost a month and still not processed it. Had to have the letter faxed to UVA to make the ED deadline. Anyway, ED app to UVA now complete, should know in 15 days....

-decided to take an online peek at my completed apps. apparently american has made a decision and should hear in the mail. depaul sent a decision letter wednesday. now i'm anxious to get the snail mail!!!
-in at American, don't know details, haven't seen the letter, just had mom open it over the phone. Whew, now i know i have somewhere to go
-out at UVA via email from the dean. kinda sucks

-after six weeks my final LOR is finally processed by LSAC making all 11 schools I initially applied to complete.
-in at depaul btw, $45,000 over three years as long as i keep a 3.2.

-i'm guessing that many schools aren't back from break yet b/c my status hasn't changed on many sites to complete although they have received my final LOR

-as suspected, many apps went final last week when schools got back from break
-I officially hate this waiting game
-bored and browsing the status checks, apparently i'm in at UGA!!

-letter from UGA - tuition "equalization" scholarship to pay instate tuition for first year. and apparently it's not difficult to qualify for instate the 2nd and 3rd year... very intriguing

-email from BAMA saying they'll pay for my plane ticket to come to an open house!!! awsome, any other schools do this? Still haven't gotten my official acceptence letter from them, maybe the snow had something to do with it.

-so there was a mechanical failure on my plane on a day trip to the UGA open house, causing me to miss the event. is this a sign....?

-personal call from the dean of BAMA on a Sunday night! we talked baseball and then he told me they've upped my scholarship from 15k to 20k. I need to take a poll......

Given: I would like to practice in DC after law school... bama will basically cost 18k for three years, while Mason will cost 63K... bama is ranked 30, Mason 41

-things get interesting with acceptance at NOVA with $30,000 scholarship

-got up to NOVA to see the brand new building and make sure there wasn't anything too horrific to turn me off.

after preparing to move down to alabama and roll with the tide, nova has swooped in and made the decision and no brainer, i think. with the money being offered, BAMA and NOVA are about the same price and what NOVA lacks in the rankings, compared to BAMA, it makes up in the regional strength. will be withdrawing from UGA and MASON in the next few days, and once i get my final financial aid package from NOVA, i will notify BAMA.
