Additional info & updates

Now reporting actual GPAs and LSAT score.

Decision dates are when I received the decision.

Northwestern's actual complete date should probably be much earlier, but I didn't verify that I was complete until the above date.

11/09: Northwestern alumni interview.
12/04: Phone interview for Harvard.
12/19: Accepted to NYU. Acceptance letter was dated 12/8.
12/21: Accepted to Northwestern. Was sent an email telling me to go to the online status checker.
12/22: Deferred at Penn. Letter dated 12/19. I didn't write the Why Penn essay.
12/23: Received an HLS 09 t-shirt in the mail along with a note saying "Congratulations on your admission to the Harvard Law School Class of 2009!"
1/17: Received an email from Michigan saying that my file has been review by at least one person, but they have not rendered a decision. I am taking this as a deferral even though they say that the file may go up for review again before the end of the application review process.
1/17: Received acceptance phone calls from both Yale and Chicago.
1/18: Withdrew from Northwestern, Michigan, and Penn.
1/26: Received a folder from Columbia notifying me of my acceptance. The letter is dated 1/23. I did not receive an email like some people.
2/6: $64,000 scholarship from Chicago, plus an offer of a $50,000 loan repayment program and a $12,800 summer fellowship. Total: $126,800
4/4: Withdrew from Columbia and NYU
4/21: I am officially attending Yale.
4/25: Withdrew from Chicago
4/26: Waitlisted at Stanford..
4/27: Withdrew from Harvard; hard decision.

i have no idea why you were deferred from penn - you have amazing stats! good luck with everything else!

Thanks for the condolence. Although I am a bit surprised, I assume it is because I didn't do the Why Penn essay. The letter says I can submit additional materials, but given my acceptances elsewhere, I might not bother.

Congratulations, and two quick questions

Hey, congratulations on the acceptance! I have two questions for you though. It would be awesome if you could answer them. I got a W on my transcript (non-punitive, non GPA counting,) Did you have any Ws on your transcript, or do you know anybody that has one or more and will it affect my acceptance into Harvard, Yale, etc? (Considering I get a high GPA and a high LSAT? (E-mail me or leave a message with the answer in my profile) Also, if you dont mind, could you tell me how you prepared for the LSAT?

congrats...

on some lovely acceptances. Are you going to withdraw from any of the other schools, or are you waiting until you're fully informed to decide? (Just curious) Best of luck with the last several schools and some difficult decisions!

Michigan Deferall

Why did Michigan defer you??? Did you write any optional essays? Did you answer the Work experience/interest area/academic honors section separately, or did you just send your resume? Any thoughts about your PS or LORs? It just seems really odd...
