Additional info & updates

3/12 - In at Zona!! I'm so very excited knowing that I will be attending law school in the fall. I got a big white envelope in the mail. I then looked at status tracker and it showed that it was updated on 3/1 with accepted. Should have looked more often.

3/26 - BYU status changed to Decision Rendered. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing? U of A said admit so I'm a little worried that this means I didn't get in.

3/29 - Waitlisted @ BYU. My low LSAT killed me I'm sure. I can't believe the huge weight that schools seem to give to one 3 hour test. It's like the 4 years of almost straight A's don't count for much. I will stay on the waitlist and hope that I get off, because they are so much cheaper than UA.

4/11 - Status checker @ St. Louis changed to "Decision made - Letter to follow". So I'm thinking that I'll hear probably Tuesday or Wednesday. Honestly though unless I end up getting into one of my reaches (Minnesota, Indiana) or I get a huge scholarship to one of my safes, I will once again be a Wildcat!

4/12 - Email from the assistant dean @ St. Louis. I'm in with a $15,000 per year scholarship. While that makes me feel good, it is only 3K less than UA and is ranked significantly lower. Things to consider.

4/16 - Got an email from the Associate Director at St. Johns reminding me about the admitted students day. The funny thing is, I have yet to get any kind of admissions packet. I'm not sure if I was emailed in error, or if the packet is on the way.

4/20 - In at Hofstra via email. Unless it comes with significant $$ I can't see moving my family across the country to attend a school that isn't as good as Arizona. At this point I am seriously considering deferring and retaking the LSAT in June. With the economy the way that it is, I am very worried about borrowing 150K for school. I believe that I will finish at the top of my class wherever I go, but I figure that I will have to do that in order to pay off my student loans. I don't know how I feel about the added pressure.

4/21 - Got an email back from St. Johns...I'm in! The packet is in the mail. Also got a scholarship offer from Hofstra informing me that I've been awarded a $25,000/year scholarship! While exciting, I don't know that it is enough cheaper than Zona to make up for the added cost of living. Has anyone successfully negotiated a greater scholarship award who might have advice to offer? I really want to go out of Arizona, the cost just keeps coming back to get me.

5/4 - I don't know why I bother updating this, as most of you have probably given up looking since it's so late in the cycle. Oh will. Got an email today stating that I'm in at Indiana Indianapolis, and that the packet is in the mail. Will wait and see what if any scholarships are included.

6/17 - Well things just got tough. Accepted via email to Indiana Bloomington. The higher ranking is very tempting. I just don't know at this point what I will do.

Congrats on your cycle so far! I'm jealous of your UA acceptance. I'm in the same boat deciding whether it's better to stay in AZ (cheaper) or move to bigger and better (more expensive). Not a fun decision. Anyway, good luck on your last few decisions!
