Additional info & updates

Paid my own way through college working at a nightclub.
Never received in-state tuition from Arizona State Univ. even though I lived there for 6 years. They always seemed to "misplace" my application.
I was also one of four undergraduate students selected to teach undergraduate Biology lab courses. I taught Introduction to Biology (for Life Science Majors) and Microbiology labs for 5 semesters.
Wrote an addendum to my GPA which I submitted with my applications. My official reported GPA is a 3.08. I dropped out of college with a 2.42 GPA for about two years. When I returned I kept a 3.56 for the last two years. Hopefully they evaluate my applicaiton based on the latter number.

01/28/2010: All Applications Sent. Univ. of Colo. requires a Certification Letter to be printed, signed, and sent separately with the application fee (check or money order only)

02/24/2010: Georgetown sent a rejection email. Obviously one of my long shots. It came back quick, I guess it wasn't a difficult decision for them. I still have two more long shots in review (Washington Univ. and Columbia)

02/25/2010: Univ. of Arizona status checker states "Unable to make admission offer". This sucks, I was really hoping for at least a waitlist offer from them. I would really like to go to ASU because they have a biotech law program. I was thinking that if I got waitlisted at UofA that I would stand a decent chance at getting accepted to ASU. Now I'm thinking the best i can do at ASU is waitlist. We shall see. No status checker option for ASU.

03/01/10: So I finally received an official letter of acceptance from Cal Western and Gonzaga today. Gonzaga merit-based scholarship came with the acceptance letter-$13,500 a year for 3 years as long as I keep a 2.7....the usual. Very excited about the money, though Gonzaga does not seem to have an area of focus that I am "in love" with.

03/02/2010: Rejected at Penn State via email.

03/03/2010: Status checker for Michigan State informed me that I have been waitlisted.

03/04/2010: Received an email from Case Western saying that they want to put my application on "HOLD" until late April. They clarified that this is not a Waitlist, but wish to review my application further. Not exactly sure if this is a good thing. They have a good Health Law program so I will stick it out. I just hope they render a decision before my other deposits are due.

04/22/10: Today has been the 1st day I've been able to log on to my profile since the beginning of March so....Rejected at Arizona State (that one hurt, it was my #1 choice and I thought that I seemed at least "waitlist material") The other rejections (Washington Univ. & Notre Dame) I expected...hey you don't know unless you ask, right? My application for Indianan Univ.-Indianapollis (my new #1 choice because I have family in IN and they have a series of classes geared toward Pharmaceutical Law) went into review last week and then changed to "Decision Letter has been Mailed" today. Fingers crossed, but I'm still in at Gonzaga. Mailed my seat deposit to them on April 11th or 12th.

04/26/10: Rejected at IU-Indianapolis....Kind of puzzling given my undergraduate degree lines up perfectly with their pharmaceutical law opportunities. Probably should have applied earlier. Oh well, there is always a chance for a transfer after the first year (any advise on that process would also be greatly appreciated). This cycle was pretty much crap for me, nevertheless, I did get into Gonzaga (w/ a scholarship) and I suppose there is still a chance for Case Western (and IU-Bloomington, but if I didn't get into Indy I don't think a stand a chance at Bloomington)

Sorry to hear about Indy. After looking at your scores, it makes my shot look really slim. I still haven't heard anything - which is probably not a good thing. Did you get a letter in the mail today? If you did, when did the status checker change on their site? Sorry for all the questions. Trying to get an idea of how much longer....I know that they have until the end of April but I have been in review since 3/31! :)
