Additional info & updates

currently go to UGA

only applied to schools in the south.

UGA is first choice, unless money from another.

1-15-09 accepted to UGA. No more stress.

1-23-09 phone call from Florida State's assistant dean of admissions saying accepted, will be at UGA next Tuesday and wants to schedule appt.

1-23-09 have decided to not complete application for U of Florida, since already accepted to UGA. You apply, then two weeks later they want you to pay the application fee and complete some more documents. Not spending the money now.

2-2-09 letter from UGA mailed.

2-4-09 received letter from UGA . 7,500 per year for 3 years. Basically half tuiton. amazing. I already knew i was attending, but i did not put my deposit down yet because i wanted money. Think about it, they use money to pull in better numbers. If you commit, the intelligent thing for them to do is offer the money to someone else. psychological economics. i don't know if it makes a difference, but the logic sounds good to me.

I also went and looked at last year and this current year, it seems like UGA is giving out way more money this year. Good luck...

so got accepted to Florida without finishing my application.

put deposit down on UGA

this is cadetmtc. The positive of emory to me is the location, because of my fiance. If you want to work in georgia, UGA is actually a lot better. Major stereotype, but politically and ideologically emory leans more towards liberal and theory, respectively. I tend to be more conservative and believe I would enjoy a little more practical education. I think UGA is just a better fit for me.
