Additional info & updates

1/8 - Email from W&L, dean is very nice, returned my thank you reply email within a day. Letter is on its way.

1/15 - Northwestern lost my interview request. I emailed them weeks ago and just heard that back today. I probably won't apply there unless I hear a rejection back from George Washington. I called GW's office to ask about letters for the ED applicants, since they are going out today. I haven't received any kind of completion email, so I was worried, but everything is still fine. Just a week or two at most, I hope, before I hear back from them. I love that school.

1/18- GW deferred me to regular admission. Call from GM about acceptance.

1/25 5:01pm - GULC status checker said decision was made. I submitted an additional LOR on 1/22, so I hope they considered it.

1/27 - Large white acceptance envelope from GM. Follow-up envelope from W&L.

1/31- Scholarship email from Washington and Lee.

2/4- Waitlisted at GW by letter...

3/31- Scholarship offer from Emory

6/16- Scholarship increase from GM.

6/25 - Call from GW

You should easily be an admit at GW. i think they just wanted to avoid paying out full tuition so they deferred you...

The same thing with GW happened to me. I honestly think it was applying ED that killed us. It delayed our applications from being reviewed for the RD spots until they were basically all taken.

Would you mind telling me how you heard from Duke? Did the status checker go to decision first? We have similar numbers and Duke is the only school I am still waiting to hear from...it's killing me!

I have narrowed it down to BC, BU and USC, but I can't decide between the three. Of course, that would change if I managed to actually HEAR from UCLA--or get into Cornell.

I'm probably going to go to Hastings. I most want Michigan, but I have a lot of reasons to stay in SF.

I don't think I'll go if I get in of the waitlists. I really don't consider GW to be "better" than ND...what are they, like 2 higher on US News? And ND gave me $$$, which I don't expect from GW....what about you, as a fellow waitlistee? As far as TX, that would be a tough call, but I go there now (for undergrad) and I think it would be fun to try living somewhere else for a bit. Also, I've put down a deposit for my apartment in South Bend, so...I think it's pretty set in stone. Go Irish!

Congrats on your acceptances!

GMU

I'll second the GW ED advice, that's the only rejection I got that I was a little surprised by. I was hoping for at least a waitlist. See you at GMU in the fall!

GW waitlist...

Well, I got an e-mail on 05-01-08 from Dean Richard. By that point it had probably been about a week (maybe less) since they had received my LOCI, additional LOR, and updated resume. I told them that I would definitely attend if accepted, and she offered me a position in the part-time program, which I am accepting. I\\\\\\\'m still on the wait list for full-time, though. I don\\\\\\\'t know what made them decide to offer me admission. With your numbers, I don\\\\\\\'t see why you wouldn\\\\\\\'t be admitted too if you tell them (truthfully) that you would commit if offered.
