Additional info & updates

Would love to get into one of the NY schools.

International student originally from Romania. Currently reside in New York City, and I am a US Permanent Resident.

MA in International Affairs. Experience in environmental trading / markets. I'd love to start my own solo practice in immigration though.

Wednesday, April 16 2014: 10K / year from Fordham guaranteed, to support their green energy initiative.

Thursday, April 17 2014: BLS scholarship is conditional upon being in the 20%ile. Can be upgraded to full scholarship in L2 provided the student graduates in the 98th %ile in L1.

Friday, April 18 2014: Hoping to hear from CUNY soon - they are the best in immigration amongst all NY schools...

Friday, April 18 2014: Thanks! I just got in at NYLS with full ride (50% of class stipulation). Makes my decision really tough now! :) My main priority is to keep debt low (I intend to open my immigration practice after graduation) and NYLS' offer is certainly attractive!

Tuesday, April 22 2014: In at Vermont Law School via mail package. Scholarship of $40K covering tuition. The admissions office certainly preferred my application due to the environmental focus of my experience.

4/23/2014: Admitted via email at Pace Law School. Merit scholarship award letter was sent in the mail.

4/29/2014: Received full tuition scholarship offer from Pace Law School (50% of class stipulation).

5/1/2014: Waitlisted at Cardozo on the priority waitlist.

5/1/2014: Accepted at St. John's with full ride. Need to stay in top 40% of class in order to keep scholarship for subsequent years.

5/2/2014: Brooklyn Law School bumped up scholarship offer to $44K / year. Wow that's so generous.

5/2/2014: Rejected at CUNY today.

I would be very surprised if you didn't get into most of the NY schools on this list, possibly all of them. Good luck!

Congrats

Thanks, you too! Where are you leaning now? PM me if you want my take on the NY schools, I've visited all the ones I applied/got into :-)

Sorry, just saw your last comment. I'm planning on CUNY at the moment as well, however I deposited at UConn too. My husband is waiting to see how far he gets in the interview process for a job he submitted for near Hartford. If he gets an offer he's excited about we'll probably go to CT, and if not I'll be at CUNY - I'm just glad the decision is out of my hands now, I was SO torn between the two schools.

Wow

I cannot believe that CUNY rejected you. What an insane mistake! Brooklyn is a great school though.
