Additional Information
I had a JR1 in November 2009.
My financial aid awards are need and merit combined over three years (but most of the funds are need-based). My award from Berkeley is a matching scholarship (based on Penn's offer).

So jealous of the JR1. Really hoping I get one soon. Congrats man!
Hey Monday, November 23rd, 2009 at 11:29 am
I trust that the JR1 interview went well, I'm anxiously awaiting one.
Your cycle should turn out just A OK.
Nice numbers by the way, they look familiar.

I'd give it a few more days for your JR2.... four days is a bit quick ;)
Congrats with everything else though! We have close stats...I'm waiting for my JR1!
Best of luck.

Hey man, yeah you too. I sort of doubt more are coming today, but maybe we'll sneak into one of the December batches.
thanks! Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at 2:32 am
I was checkin you out a few days ago I think. It seems like JR sent a bunch of JR1's to URMs recently, so maybe he is considering us all together. Anyways I think you'll get good news soon enough ;) Check your pm's for my stats. Best of luck!!!
yay! Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Congrats on BU, twin! Now, if only I could get MY phone call.... :)
Congrats on the JR1! Monday, December 7th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
I hope a JR2 is on its way for you! Also, for my sake, since I'm in the "not usually accepted this early but had an early JR1" boat. I guess admits traditionally go out on Mondays?
woo! Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 12:43 am
You're just racking up the acceptances! Awesomeeeee getting into Berkeley!!!! I love when law schools give 168s some love :)
woop! Thursday, December 10th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
More 168 love :) Congrats on Michigan!!!! I just got accepted to UVA!!!!
hmmm... Thursday, December 10th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
good question! It varies with the school. I was strong considering applying ED to GWU for the scholly chance, but wanted to wait until I received as many decisions back as possible before the Dec. 15 deadline. I've pretty much decided to just apply there RD now that I'm in at GTown and UVA.
The rest of the schools had something complicated about their application--i.e. additional essays, etc.--that I just haven't been able to really focus on with the semester of school winding down/finals/etc. Applications just suck the life out of me! I know it usually helps to apply earlier rather than later, but since I applied to many schools, I slowed down.

You just keep piling them on Friday, December 11th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
Evidently Berkeley wasn't enough for you in early December, clearly you needed Michigan and Cornell too, lol.
Congrats man I'm very happy for you. I don’t even know you yet I feel like your success is my success, must be the bond of number twins.

Stanford / Harvard Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
Hey thanks man, I appreciate the well-wishes. I'll be watching closely to see if you and some of the other JR2-less people get a call from Harvard, so hang tough.
Hey Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 at 2:48 am
I'm in love with you.
Will you marry me?

Hey congrats on your success so far! Just wondering what your softs were(PM me if you don't want to post it publicly)? Your numbers are solid, but I'm wondering what you thought made you stand out?
Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 2:58 pm
AA male. Huge splitter though so my cycle was bound to be unpredictable. Congrats on all your great acceptances thus far. Hope HYS work out for you.
Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Harvard Monday, January 11th, 2010 at 7:36 pm
Haha honestly I wish I knew the answer to that.
Hey sucks Saturday, January 30th, 2010 at 9:31 pm
About Yale huh? Ah well, I guess there's still Harvard and Stanford, right?
Nope Monday, February 1st, 2010 at 10:57 am
JR apparently hasn't found me interesting (yet?) :(
Gotta say, I'm suprised you haven't heard from NYU yet. I wouldn't worry though - they've probably got you in a money pile :)

ucla maybe? Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 at 12:49 pm
hmm clearly I've spent a little too much time on TLS/LSN and maybe am thinking about Stanford a little too much too. but yes congrats on all the great acceptances anyways
Monday, February 8th, 2010 at 2:08 pm
hi Core- it's hannah87 from TLS. the one who went to the same "TTT Public" as you ;) wondering if you're in MHC? Also, I'm betting you're getting into NYU this week!
TTT Monday, February 8th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
i am working full time, but it's not a legal job...it's in the quality improvement dept at a hospital, which is sort of indirectly related to medical malpractice law, but i'm not particularly interested in that. i think the school name made it difficult for me to get a paralegal job post-grad. the BALA program at our TTT is actually what got me interested in law though, so i am grateful for that :)
nyu 168 acceptance Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at 2:56 pm
i'm going to go with good news,if only to make myself feel a little better! either way, you have some fantastic options to "fall back" on. GOOD LUCK!
columbia Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 at 11:10 pm
boo. i have a feeling they're just trying to gauge your interest, though. i'm rooting for you!
Thursday, February 11th, 2010 at 6:15 pm
reserve at CLS. i think i'll ride it out. i have a good feeling about your hold!
Sunday, February 14th, 2010 at 4:13 pm
Thanks man! Good luck to you too! One question, how long after you went under review for Harvard did you get contacted for a JR1?
Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
Lol, thanks.
Congrats on your acceptances as well!
I think someone from HSCN is going to bite for you. Besides you have Berkeley and Chicago, to name just a few, you’re in a great position right now.
Are you still going to the Berkeley ASW?

Makes sense, I would probably choose Chicago over NYU as well.
I've already attended Harvard's ASW, it was great. They did an amazing job "selling" the school, not that they needed to.
I plan on attending both Stanford's and Berkeley's ASWs. Of course if I get into Yale I will be attending their ASW as well.
Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at 8:19 pm
thanks!!! the fordham $ is really great. i'm visiting UVa in april, but i'm leaning toward fordham now, just because virginia is pretty unrealistic in my situation. are you thinking chicago?? more nyu acceptances should be coming in the next week or two- i hope you get one!!
... Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 at 9:01 am
Not a word from Harvard over here. But, silence is at least better than a ding. You were held by Columbia? Hopefully you hear something soon. You definitely leaning Penn with scholarship over Chicago?
NYU slowness Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at 1:04 am
it's so painful! i can't believe you haven't heard, either. big congrats on the michigan and upenn scholarships!!!!
Wish I knew, but... Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at 2:35 pm
I have a theory - our awesomeness shines like the sun, and they fear going blind if they look at our apps too long :D
Thanks, and congrats to you too - that Penn scholly is nothing to frown at!

Haha, thank you. It was a single take and I have nothing terrible on my record. Completely free of disciplinary issues. There are a couple minor weaknesses and I guess my personal statement was kind of risky, but I think it's also that it's a really tough year. I feel really lucky and flattered that a T14 offered me so much money in this economy and cycle though, and a lot of people are telling me that this is better than Harvard at sticker, and maybe even Yale (I would definitely still take Yale over this though. Good luck with your top choices!
Waaaaitlist time! Monday, April 19th, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Are you planning to stick it out to the bitter end like me? XD
Friday, June 25th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
Currently going to Penn... decided I'd rather be on the east coast this fall. What's your plan? Will I see you around?
Sunday, July 4th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
It appears that the top schools didn't give you a URM boost :(
reply to anon Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at 2:55 pm
I think they did - i.e. the fin aid I got, my acceptance at Chi, and my HLS interview. I think it was a just a tough cycle. I am also half white and indicated as such in my app.
