Additional info & updates

04/6/07--Visited TJSL and Cal Western in San Diego over the weekend. TJSL bent over backwards for me...During my meeting with Tim Spearman he admitted me on the spot....but still not impressed with the school atmosphere, kind of like a low rent motel feel.

Cal Western is Legit! They even arranged for me to get some scholarship money, I will find out tomorrow about that. They are my strong safety,

ASU is reviewing my file, supposed to meet w/ Dean Soto to discuss soft factors and performance in a law class there.

Also, I have some pull at UNLV with the option of getting in state tuition which is less than $10K a year...cant beat that...plus the campus is awesome.

Found out Syracuse is $41K a year, no thanks...I will wait to hear from them to see if they take me and give me some money or something, but I will more than likely stay in the west.

Gonzaga, from what I hear is beautiful...seriously would consider offer from them.

Well, the wait is over, UNLV finally sent me something. I guess waitlist isn't that bad, but I sure do want to go there so badly. I can get in-state tuition if they accept me because my wife is a teacher and can easily be hired in Clark County. I am sending a LOCI on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Wilamette--who cares, they are cheaper than Cal Western, but closer to home, plus San Diego is paradise.

Hoping to hear from ASU and/or UNLV before July.

Hey! I grew up in vegas and don't want to live there again. It was a pretty emotional decision because most of my family lives there, but the environment/traffic/people in vegas make it an enviroment that isn't conducive to studying. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to ASU, however my b/f is not too fond of the summer heat down there (I love it, but he's paying the bills and its just as much his life as mine, and I want him to be happy). I want to stay in the North West and Gonzaga places well in areas in northern nevada/california/oregon and washington. The money helps, its why I chose it over Lewis and Clark, I'm not really willing to have 160K dollars of debt. So yea, thats why LOL

UNLV PT DAY

I applied to the part-time day, but I didn't know about what you wrote me until I read it. I wasn't considering UNLV any longer, but if I was, I would have felt like that was a pretty big mistake. Thanks for the heads-up.

Kleiner! Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Good to hear from you. As for Pacific, I attended their Legal Scholars day. Essentially its an open house for prospective students. Anyways, my wife and I fell in love with the school. The faculty all have very impressive credentials(have published a ton of text in their respective fields). In addition, I found that the overall feeling amongst both the student body and faculty was very cooperative and cordial. As far as job placement, Pacific does very well in Sacramento, as well as the central valley (Fresno, Bakersfield, and beyond).Top grads are competive in the bay area and in So. Cal. They also place very good in Nevada especially in Vegas and Reno. At first, the US News ranking concerned me but when you factor in the bar passage rate and other stats for the part time program it became obvious that the us news rankings are depceptive in classifying pacific as a borderline T3. Hope this helps. Good Luck and congrats on your cycle thus far.

I got waitlisted. After visiting both schools, I got a better feel at Pacific. So, being put on the waitlist at UNLV pretty much solidified my decision. Good Luck!
