Additional info & updates

I'm interested in Public Interest law, specifically civil rights and discrimination work.

2/26 - First response is an acceptance from USD! Very excited to have my home town option available. Says they'll mail any scholarship/grant offers separately.

3/2 - Second acceptance came from Chapman, which was my safety. Offered me $22,000/year. I'm hoping this is a reflection of what I'll be offered from other schools.

3/13 - Received scholarship offer from USD, $21,000/year; thinking about moving back in with my parents to avoid additional loans.

4/4 - First rejection from USC. It was a reach, so not too surprised or disappointed. I'll be more sad to get one from UCLA and still crossing my fingers for Irvine, though they're both long shots.

4/8 - Accepted at Loyola! Much more excited then I thought I would be, figuring it would come down to money if I had to decide between USD and Loyola. Offering $15,000/year, which makes me a little hesitant, but their Public Interest program reflects my interests a lot more then USD's. Deciding between the two is becoming more complicated.

4/14 - Rejected from UC Irvine. Bummed, but not surprised. I've decided on Loyola. I'm still a little anxious about cutting USD out as an option, but I don't want to pay the seat deposit just to have more time to decide.

Loyola is a much better option that USD, you're going to love it I'm sure. First of all the people and the atmosphere is so much better at Loyola. Secondly if you want to do public interest law Loyola is one of the best schools in the country for it. Lastly even if USD is ranked higher Loyola has a much better reputation around LA and in California and it will give you more opportunities after school. Congrats! Welcome to the class of 2012.
