In response to your query...yes, I refused a spot on Pitt's WL and they still offered me a seat.
someone else who knows what it's like to be a minority with no benefits. definitely looks as though you've got a lot more goin for you though. also nice to see someone else who applied to a lot of schools. where are you hoping to go?
