Extra Curricular Information

After deferring one year, I'll be at Harvard in the fall of 2010. That final decision between Harvard and Duke was HARD. I'm still not sure whether I made the right decision, especially now that I have to pay for Harvard (and I wouldn't have had to pay for Duke), but it'll work out in the end.

ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

Early March - withdrew from UVA, I don't care enough to send a LOCI at this point.

2/16/09 - Letter from Chicago, $75k scholarship over three years.

Other February stuff: was awarded the Mordecai at Duke, decided not to apply for the Levy at Penn.

2/2/09 - Invitation to apply for Levy Scholars program at Penn.

1/30/09 - I picked up my school mail and had an acceptance from Columbia dated 1/22, so I dated the acceptance that day.

1/9/09 - Withdrew from Gtown and Michigan.

1/5/09 - I picked up my school mail, and I had two envelopes from NYU. The letter is dated 12/11, so that's the date I put as "decision." Also had a letter from Gtown saying I'd have to notify them if I wanted to apply for a scholarship.

12/23/08 - Call from Penn - I'm in! At this point I sort of feel "done" with my cycle, even though I have five schools to hear back from. Also, call from UChicago - I'm in here too!

12/22/08 - "Decision Rendered" at UPenn.

12/19/08 - "Decision Pending" at UChicago.

12/11/08 - My Penn status checker still says "Under Committee Review," but it now says 12/2 instead of 11/11 - I have no clue why.

11/25/08 - TS2. Am happier than I thought possible.

11/22/08 - Duke Law Mordecai Scholarship nomination!!!

11/19/08 - I just noticed that my Penn status checker changed from "Complete" to "Under Committee Review," and it did so on 11/11.

11/12/08 - IN AT GEORGETOWN!!! Very happy :)

10/28/08 - Toby Stock call. I clocked in at 11 minutes, so am officially a rambler.

10/20/08 - IN AT DUKE. I wasn't priority track and I did write a "Why Duke."

10/16/08 - TOBY STOCK EMAIL. Very excited.

10/14/08 - Complete everywhere. Now I actually get to sit back and wait/compulsively check the status checkers...

10/13/08 - Called NYU, my application is complete and has been sent to committee. I didn't ask when it happened, so I just put today's date.

10/9/08 - Called Gtown, I went complete on 10/2. Awesome.

10/2/08 - All apps are in, so now I get to sit back and wait. For two to six months. Yay?

With our similar numbers i hope we both find success this cycle! Good luck! I'm sure I'll be following your acceptances to see what I can expect! One question, though, why not Y/S for you? I know with our numbers they may be reaches, but still very doable -- particular if you have strong soft factors. Just curious if you have a particularly reason for not applying?

i have similar numbers as well, I've sent in my applications and am waiting. wish you the best of luck! about the georgetown/nyu apps, i also sent in apps to both school around september 20-something-eth, and have not heard anything from either school. after reading what you wrote, am considering calling them to check that my apps have at least been received. question-- for georgetown, they haven't even requested my LSDAS report or letters of rec from LSAC. was this the case for you too?
