Additional info & updates

5/8/2009 - Rejected by Michigan State. Pretty much expected but not disappointed now that I have sent my deposit to TJ.

5/4/2009 - Sent my Intent to Enroll and deposit to Thomas Jefferson.

4/24/2009 - Got an e-mail from Bernita from Phoenix Law about my acceptance. I am just waiting for the packet to check out the school a little bit. Most likely I'll be attending Thomas Jefferson anyway but it doesn't hurt to have another acceptance. Btw, their admission person Bernita is a very nice lady, very helpful and very informative.

4/16/2009 - Finally! Finally! I am accepted to Thomas Jefferson. I am very excited that they are moving a new campus too next year. And the fact that I don't have to move really makes this acceptance that much sweeter!

i see that you didnt have a high gpa or lsat score. im in the same boat and im deathly afraid of applying even tho its my dream to be an atty (i wrk for a firm too). I loved thomas jefferson too-do you think id have chance? i have a 2.25(ugpa)and lsat 149 u think id get in? was it for u based on ur personal statement? letters of rec? were u able to provide with employer letter of rec? im sorry for so many questions - my stats are comparable to urs and im applying for fall 2010 :)

oh don't worry about the questions, I think some people may find it surprising that I am accepted with my stats. First off, I think my big "jump" in LSAT helped (it was in the mid-130s). One thing I'll like to add here is if you are like me, with a low GPA, I would definitely try to get a LSAT score above 150 to give yourself a chance and the admission committee a reason to consider your apps. Second, I had a very good personal statement going in. I had that revised by a professional and rewrote it many many times before I sent it out. Lastly, the law firm I interned at located in San Diego and TJ seems to be very keen on the interns at the local (sometimes OC too) firms. I hope this helps. I don't think your stats tell the whole story about you but your personal statement could play a big role in this process. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions, I would answer you with my best knowledge and offer more advice if you'd liek. Good luck in your process! Hope to see you TJ too!
