Additional info & updates

I'm a non-traditional applicant--in that I graduated from undergrad in 2000, and have been working as a software developer ever since. Hoping to get into law school to work for LGBT Civil Rights Law (big change, I know).

I didn't do as well as I'd hoped on my LSAT, and to boot, I took it 3 times (in a span of 6 months); but oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles. The good news is that I increased 11 points on my last take. Didn't take any prep courses nor tutoring, as I'm trying to save money. Maybe it was a bad idea, but I'm content with where I am at this point.

My first choice is the CUNY, as I'm living in NYC and having to relocate would be really inconvenient, but it will all come down to the finances and scholarship money. CUNY's tuition is 10.5k per year (including books), so a school would really have to offer at least 30k a year for it to be financially feasible for me.... Therefore I'm most likely going to a CUNY.

(The scholarship money that I've entered is per year.)

3/5/10: I attended the CUNY Open House for admitted students, and really like the vibe of the school. The facilities are a little worse for wear, it's in the boondocks--it's not like I need fancy shiny classrooms and wainscoting in order to have a good education. Met a couple professors, lots of students, and really like the non-competitive environment that the school fosters. Most of the students there seem to be there to pursue a law career in social justice, and I feel like I'll fit right in.
