My withdrawal from Tulane went out today. I'm actually really disappointed about not going there, but my family is in Dallas and I need to be near my parents. My dad has had some major health problems; otherwise I would be in New Orleans right now working for HFH. Still SMU is pretty nice.

Melanie Nutt emailed me today to "discuss admission to the Wake Forest University School of Law." Was not expecting this... Cool.

Decided to go ahead and put deposits down at SMU and Tulane since I can't decide. I also sent a letter to ND explaining that I was still very intrested. Who knows.

I returned from my visit to Tulane to find a waitlist letter from Wake Forest. It was just a single sheet of paper explaining that I would be notified by late April/early may and that they could not elaborate more than that. It had an odd and rushed feel about it and I got the impression that they have zero desire to hear from students asking when decisions would be made.

So after hearing nothing for a long time UH Law Center sent me an email congratulating me.

South Texas sent a small letter of acceptance.

SMU called me a week ago and congratulated me. The actual letter, which came two days ago, said they were impressed with my work in student government. Im surprised they took the time to add that, but it felt good to hear.

Tulane sent me an email; it was titled Your acceptance to Tulane Law School which was odd and somewhat anticlimactic. Still it is exciting to get a nod. Hopefully I will fly down and see how New Orleans has faired after Katrina, but I am told the school, especially the law school, is at pre storm levels now.

Theyve given me something called the Tulane Law School Deans Scholarship. I have to keep a 3.0 and I will get 12,500 every year. I dont know how that compares but it is still neat.

Wake Forest sent and email saying my file is in review and that a letter will be sent via U.S. Postal Service when a decision is made.

I applied to Notre Dame on a prayer, I know I'm reaching, but here is to hope. Ive been in love with the school ever since I saw the movie Rudy. My mother was a longhorn in the 70s when the Irish beat them away from some championships so it would be a riot since she hates the school.

I know UT is next to impossible, but I have been told that 70% of the enrollment is mandated to be sate residents (Texan in exile) so why not try? Theyve snubbed me (and my brothers) so many times in the past Ive lost a lot of interest. Still, who can say no to such a good school? The worst that could happen is that I get a thin letter to feed to the shredder.
