UC DAVIS IS LAME! i have absolutely no idea whatsoever why it took them this long to send me anything. the best part is that their status checker said i went into review on march 27. when i called (mostly cause i i paid for a decision and i wanted a decision!) and mentioned the fact that deposits were due elsewhere they said theirs wasn't and they obviously didn't seem to care that maybe somewhere out there people would lose a couple hundred dollars on another deposit cause they hadn't heard from UCD yet. lame and disrespectful.

Additional info & updates

american: really large usps package
cardozo: call from dean of admissions; offer to be flown out.
hastings: decided to randomnly check the status page and it said decision-admitted. well, who knows. i don;t think i will have to go there, but at least it's in state tuition.
temple: a few days later a packet offering me 12 grand a year for 3 years. some special merit scholarship.
wustl: e-mail with letter to come; letter arrived with handwritten note from asst dean of admissions; being considered for some merit scholarships 1/27 update: 45k over 3 years--SIL award!!
uiuc: 15k/year
cardozo: 20k/year
fordham: deferral kind of offended me and was a pretty big surprise. going to withdraw--if you want me, you've got to WANT me.

was out of the country for over a month so i do not have dates for some things. minnesota is cheap though. wtf? they cost about the same as wustl and all of the other private schools for out of state tuition (plus they wont ever give you resident tuition).

california is the devil. i may die if i have to stay.
-im @ berkeley, which i love, but i need a change. pretty hard major--interdisciplinary, too.
-the ranking system is sort of implicit if you can gather that i hate california; im not playing the USWNR ranking game though b/c i prefer to choose based on programs/clinics/etc that appeal to me
-i threw in GULC last minute for the sake of it. i do not have high hopes, but i need to at least try.

i have lived in the west LA area my whole life. i never felt i fit in down here. berkeley was way better and more eclectic. i also hate the sun. i just feel like going someplace a bit more varied and a bit colder may make me happier.

I feel your pain

I am from the west valley. I (like totally) feel your pain. I got the heck out of there right after high school.I will surely never go back to LA. I think that Northern Cali seems ok. Where would you most like to end up?

first choice?

I just got the Fordham deferral today and am most likely going to withdraw as well. I'm not that interested in the school to keep it on the list when I've heard from schools I'd prefer to attend. I totally understand your feelings about CA. I am in FL now and cannot wait to get out.

Looks like

you and I are the only ones on LSN who applied in November and STILL haven't heard from GW. Not bad for you b/c you already got some great choices. Congrats

sorrry to those who said stuff to me while i was in africa. right now i am debating washu & minnesota. i dont think i could handle being out in nothingness in VA. at the moment i THINK i am heading to washu. st louis vs. minneapolis--20 degree difference in weather and look w here i am coming from. they also gave me a lot more money, have shown real interest in me, definitely place well in the locations i am looking at for the future, and have an established clinic that places students with employment discrimination/claim orgs that i am pretty much guaranteed. 5k from minnesota was kind of offensive as well b/c that is basically NOTHING.

Hey there

i was an interdisciplinary major at Cal too! what is/was your thesis? did you do it under Klee? he's rad.
