Additional info & updates

2/9 - Sent an e-mail to Georgetown because my application status still registers as "applied" and not as "complete."

2/21 - Sent another e-mail to Georgetown. Still no response.

2/22 - U of Richmond phone call for acceptance and request to apply for scholarship. William and Mary acceptance info arrives via mail.

2/28 - Called Georgetown to ask about my application status, and after getting disconnected 3 times, they told me that my personal statement and resume were missing according to their records. They went to my hard copy file and found that they were in fact there and said that they would change my online status to complete.

3/7 - Georgetown online status check still does not register that my application is complete. I followed up with a call, and they told me, after being disconnected and re-routed, that my application had been complete since 2/1.

3/9 - Tulane e-mailed about acceptance; letters will follow. Package from Temple arrives in the mail.

3/12 - U of Richmond offers scholarship, but not the full scholarship applied for, via mail. Oddly-shaped envelope (not small, not large) from U of Maryland saying I am waitlisted.

3/19 - Acceptance letters from Tulane arrive with info on scholarship money.

3/21 - George Mason phone call - accepted for the PT program only. Mailing full acceptance packages later.

3/22 - E-mailed GWU because I had never received confirmation that my application was complete. Someone responded quickly that it was in fact complete. I e-mailed back asking for a completion date, simply for my own records, and I have not received a response yet. The date above is when I received confirmation that it was completed but not the day on which it was completed.

3/23 - Letter in the mail from American indicating waitlist.

3/27 - Went on a whirlwind tour of DC schools yesterday. I was most impressed by GW and Georgetown, but I am still waiting to hear from them. American did not impress me more than George Mason or William and Mary, so I have decided to withdraw from AU. American was not necessarily worse than the other two, but I am already accepted at GMU and W&M, and those two schools are significantly less expensive. Also withdrew from Temple, Tulane, and U of Maryland.

3/30 - Georgetown online status check went to decision.

4/3 - Received a small envelope from U.Va. indicating priority resident wait list. Online status check did not change until after I received the letter in the mail. Also was offered Marshall scholarship at Richmond after a meeting with Dean Rahman.

4/4 - Went in person to UVA and spoke with Deans Trujillo and Palmer at UVA to discuss options. They were both very honest and very helpful.

4/8 - Accepted via e-mail to Richmond with scholarship. In order to take scholarship, must withdraw other applications.

4/10 - Came home from vacation to a rejection letter in the mail from Georgetown. Not sure the date it arrived (sometime between 4/5 and 4/10).

Hey there, We're pretty much numbers twins - I have your identical index at George Mason. I was accepted - I bet you will be too. Question on William & Mary - how do they notify? Call or mail? Thanks!

very very similar...

Wow, you're right - we are pretty similar. GPA, LSAT, undergrad involvement and definitely work experience. I worked in admissions at my old school for two years after graduating. Good luck with your process, especially GW and UVa! Also... I'm curious, if you don't mind me asking, where do you work?

good luck

on your pending decisions. Yes, we seem to have the same undergrad! I'm on the GW waitlist and I really hope I still have a chance since I still haven't heard from a few schools, being this late I take it as a 'not so good' sign...

I haven't received the envelope yet, but saw my status changed... and saw I can't log on to the admitted students forum. Is there any indication if it is priority or general WL? Sorry that it wasn't what you wanted...

Thanks for the info... I was starting to realize it was a longshot when things went into April, and when I failed to log on to the admitted students site, I knew I was right to be doubtful. It is hopeful that you are priority resident WL as opposed to general though! I'm still waiting for my letter. Good luck with all of your schools!
