Additional info & updates

With my grades and LSAT score I realize that I am looking primarily at T3-T4 schools which is fine with me. I have no aspirations of becoming a corporate attorney or working for a mega-firm. I took the LSAT (Dec '09) with little preparation after being out of an academic setting for over 10 years so I might consider retaking the LSAT in June '10 if I don't get in anywhere. Ovbiously, I think the best thing I have going for me is my professional experience, but that only gets you so far.

My application strategy was pretty simple - cast the broadest net possible, including schools where my chance of acceptance are 0% (ie - William & Mary, University of Minnesota) to ones where historically I have a better than 40% chance (ie - Wiedner, Cooley, etc.) based off the last couple years of admission statistics. Primarily, however, I'm lookng at two regions: the midwest (home) and the metro-Washington DC area (work). My ideal situation would be a regional school with a strong alumni base in the midwest.

I will update as rejections/accepatances begin to come in.

Good to see another vet trying for law school. Sounds like you have a great chance. Are you eligible for the post 9/11 GI Bill? Good chance you can have tuition 100% paid for especially if the school participates in the yellow ribbon program. Hope you have a good cycle!

Yeah, absolutely on top of the whole post-9/11 MIGB, although I've heard the process is slow as molasses. Makes LS a lot more doable now that they've added BAH into the mix. Hope your cycle does you well!
